House of Wolves and saving packages
So friends have been telling me to save all my cryptarch and vanguard packages at the postmaster. When the dlc drops your engrams and gear should all be new dlc stuff. Is this true? Old and common news?

You're better off getting your vanguard, cryptarch, and faction reps just under the next level just before the dlc chimes out. That way once you quickly level them up those packages have a shot at new gear. Existing packages and engrams likely will not return new gear.
