Bungie isn't sitting there at there computers purposely giving you shards or energies. It's called a Random Number Generator. Notice the word [b]random[/b] in there. So just because you've been playing for a long time that doesn't mean you're guaranteed a Gjallarhorn. It's all random. It's not Bungie's fault, so stop complaining to them. End of story.
