Just kind of a random idea but I'll try to explain it as well as possible. Why not have special pieces of armor that only have a chance of dropping after completing a nightfall? These pieces of armor could kind of be like raid armor in the way that they only drop while doing that specific activity and they have a special perk aimed towards giving you an advantage during that activity. Perhaps one perk could lessen incoming Arc damage while the Arc Burn modifier is active. Or maybe one could regenerate your health or give you a shield when you're the last guardian alive. Also, a lot of people complain that everyone looks the same. Currently there are only 2 sets of armor per class which allow you to reach max level (plus exotics and One of these sets being Iron Banner and the other being the most recently released raid). Having another set of armor at max light level would help with armor diversity as well. And if you're worrying that people wouldn't have to do that raid to get max light level: 1: You can already get max light level from Iron Banner alone without ever having even attempted a raid. 2: You can only get rewards from nightfall once a week. At best if you were blessed by RNGesus and had 3 characters all the same class you could get 3 pieces in one week, however that'd be very unlikely.
