Popped my swordbearer cherry.

I downed Crota on hard for the first time last night as the sword holder! Well, I wasn't technically the swordbearer. Ours died after the second take down on the first sword. We were behind one take down, so we decided to shoot for 3 on the next 2 swords. Turns out we didn't need to. Made it to the last sword and he enraged after the first take down, took him down again and I went in for the kill. It was a lot of fun and super super exciting! I have a question though, for everyone who has experience with the sword. Combos or smashes? I used the combo, on average getting in 1-2 slams after it. Obviously it worked and honestly, it gave me an extra split second to escape. Are there any drawbacks to the combo that I should know about? Besides the obvious potential to screw it up and miss out on damage. To me, it is clear after this run that the combo does sufficient damage since we fell Crota, but is there some other reason people prefer slams? PS I'm a titan.

  • On hard I prefer slams just because its easier to time and count out his before he enrages. If you have perfect timing, 2 combos and a slam will finish him in two swords its just riskier. Way to go steping up to finish him off :) once you are comfortable with the sword, you won't want to do anything else
