A topic that has come up often with this community, is the fact that people can skip VoG, and get to 31. There might be a way to fix this, and it has to do with ascendent materials. As most people know, ascendent materials are not uncommon. You can get them from the VoG, Public events, daily story, nightfall, destroying armour, reward packages, and engrams. But what if we limited what dropped ascendent materials? What if it was only VoG? I see this as a win win for bungie, and the community. Bungie wins by having a less chance of people getting materials, having to do the raid more, and an increase to playtime. The community just stops getting 9 materials added to their 200+ colection. The only problem with this is that people who have a ton of materials saved up, can instantly get a charter to level 31. So maybe add a VoG item that is needed to upgrade armour, and a max of one per week, and as a random drop. Tl; Dr Take ascendent materials out of drops and keep it to VoG. Edit: A lot of people are talking about how people don't have time to raid, in that case, how about keep it for Daily heroic story, and sharding armour, and VoG Edit: Upgrade the VoG to level 32 instead

  • My issue is in the finding a good team to raid with as I had my first attempts at vog last week, and started back in Oct. Unless you have a knowledgeable team who can work well together or teach, it falls apart quite quickly. I spent a few hours in with people dropping in and out, but trying to put in a solid effort as part of the team, but it just ending up being a series of wipes at the aegis. Another attempt took me to atheon cp with a team in a language I couldn't understand, but basically seemed to want to run around punching each other....Not really what I was after. So to limit the progression of predominantly solo players who can't afford all day to hit the raid, is counterproductive. It limits engagement, and ultimately enjoyment as the gear we can get them doesn't allow us to compete in other areas such as PvP. Personally I suck at PvP and need to really grind at it as I want to get the thorn, so would be good to get some different, "special" gear. I agree in some aspects though, as areas of the game need to evolve to keep players engaged and invested in the franchise for the longer term.
