In wondering what you strategists are into!
Things like Telltale Game Series don't count, as they are considered Point & Click Adventures. Mass Effect doesn't count either as it focuses on Third Person Shooting.
My Favorites are The Entire Command & Conquer Series, and Civilization: Revolution

Advanced wars. Days of ruin to be exact. I love my dusters and antitank cannons. I guess fire emblem is a close second, the value you give your units is astronomically high in that game. In other games you think to yourself. What is an acceptable sacrifice for obtaining this land/ wiping out my opponents units in this area while still maintaining enough support to defend myself In a counter attack. Fire emblem is. Shit. How do approach these guys to wipe them out and not lose a single unit.

Edited by Uberdawg: 4/18/2015 2:20:58 AMMedieval II Total War is my favorite. I've beaten it and the expansions around 30 times total. Total Annihilation is a classic, and I've got the most fond memories of Command and Conquer Generals. I have a weird soft spot in my heart for Command and Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath, mostly because it is the only strategy game where I invented a tactic entirely on my own and dominated a number of games with it. (I'm sure other guys did it too, but I invented it independently as well.) I think Fire Emblem should count, too, even if it's a bit of an RPG.
