In an addition to the April Update, MS has added voice messages to Xbox One and dedicated servers to the Party Chat App.
In the voice messages portion of the update Xbox One users can send and recieve voice messages from Xbox One and through the Xbox 360.
I have yet to try out the dedicated servers but I might try it out today.
I'm happy MS is listening to the feedback people are giving because voice messages was one of the most requested features on their feedback section. Dedicated servers for parties sounds awesome and will hopefully work (I will update this later and tell you guys if it does.)

Been testing it via the preview program, last preview dashboard. Like on 360 before it things are improving with every update. The snap times for achievements are much quicker and I have not had any problems on the party chat. Better times ahead, some good info in your OP.

I have an invite to preview program. Is it worth it to join? I've hear people have serious problems like not being able to get into matchmaking, can't party chat, crashes, etc.

They're adding voice messages? Oh, crap. I hate listening to squeakers who are too illiterate/lazy to type a message. This also points out a key flaw of the Xbox One: leaving out the things that made 360 awesome like party chat or sending a basic invite. The fact that they had to get patched back in proves that the PS4 is currently winning the console war, both in sales and basic common sense. There's still no simple "sign into Xbox Live function". What were Microsoft thinking?

Thats cool that their adding cross voice messages Between Xbox One & Xbox 360. Still kinda wish they do cross party chat like Sony did with PSVita and PS4.
