Last night while playing Destiny with a few friends we got joined by a player who ended offending me worse than anyone I have ever met, even outside of the game world... We were at Crota's End on Hard Mode and just got past the Deathsinger. Some fire-team members dropped out after being consumed by the Oversoul a couple times so we needed to add a few more Guardians to help out, sadly, we were about to team up with the most racist online gamer I've ever encountered... After losing to Crota several times, a few players started to get frustrated and the tension started to rise. I'm not 100% sure what started the argument but what I remember was everyone thinking this guy was getting way too out of control... My friend who I have gamed with on several occasions is for the sake of "politically correct" terms. A black male... And out of nowhere the other guy says. "Quit being such a wannabe... Quit acting Black" and my proceeds to say "Umm. I am black actually, haha" at this point we all in other words start asking a "where is this going" kind of thing... The racist piece of crap then says "That sucks for you. I am white which is the "Best" race"... So my friend says "Dude, you need to chill" and the douche says "What are you gonna do? Call the cops? At least they will help me instead of just shoot me." (Which is a reference to the young Black kids who have been in the news recently that were shot by police while unarmed). He proceeds to say "White is the best race and I don't care if i'm being racist. This (n-word) needs the shut the f*** up". WOW is all I have to say about the whole situation. It blew my mind that someone could just act like such an illiterate piece of hot dog shit and really try to just hit someone where it might hurt because the game is not on his side at the moment. MY FRIEND WASN'T EVEN THE CAUSE FOR ALL THE OVERSOULS! Lol. Anyway... The point of this post is simple. We are a community of gamers who all have the same goal, have fun and overcome the challenges the enemy puts in front of us TOGETHER as a TEAM! People who act like this shouldn't be able to just get away with it and think they are "cool" because they can get under someones skin and then laugh at them when it upsets the other guy. People like him are the reason that communities fall apart and players are afriad of meeting new people online with the fear that they might not "fit in". He is a piece of crap and deserves to get a little "feedback" from the community and his fellow Guardians.
