So an idea crossed my mind the other day while I was just patrolling around Mars. What if while on patrol, you see another player with an allegiance to another faction. Immediately your blood begins to boil of course because faction allegiance is the most important aspect of who your character is..... Sorry but it really isn't important at all, and I for one wish it were. So imagine instead, a prompt comes up notifying you that a representative from another faction is near and asks if you'd like to engage them, maybe give Dinklebot some more lines. If they accept it'll be a 1v1 out in the wild between two guardians. A winners purse might include faction reputation, a handful of glimmer, 5-10 materials of the appropriate planet, and perhaps a chance at some ammo synthesis or an engram. Maybe a passerby sees the raging battle and decides to join in, a fight with more than 2 players/factions could yield higher rewards, which may or may not lead to all-out warfare for the chance at legendary drops. Imagine dozens of guardians battling out in the wild, open map with AI enemies sprinkled throughout, battles could take place literally anywhere, anytime, and I think would be an amazing addition to this game. Please comment any ideas you think could be Added, an wether or not you like this/ think it would be a cool Idea for an alternate game type to make patrolling and factions more relevant in the game.
