Greetings all,
Updates to APIs for social networks are about to make them incompatible as authentication options on our website. Linking your Bungie.net account to alternative logins will enable you to preserve your history as a member of our community.
The following changes will take effect on Tuesday, March 24th:
-Facebook login will become invalid
-Google+ login will become invalid
You may still login to an existing profile with Facebook or Google+ for the remaining week, but this method will be removed and you will need to have a different Authentication in place before March 24th.
All Bungie.net accounts will need to be linked to one of the following free gaming accounts:
-PlayStation ID
-Xbox Live Gamertag
-PlayStation Plus and Xbox LIVE Gold will be optional
Additional information:
-Microsoft Accounts without linked gamer tags cannot be linked or used to create a new profile

Edited by Seraphim Crypto: 3/22/2015 12:03:29 AMDear Bungie, I do have two questions regarding the profile of my girlfriend's brother. I do manage his account here on bungie.net and have access to it, but as I have read your Help Article I noticed that, under the given circumstances, I will lose complete access to his bungie.net account. The problem is that I can only log-in into his account via Facebook, since there is some problem with his Xbox E-Mail account (a problem which couldn't be solved by Microsoft) and thus, we cannot link his xbox profile to his bungie.net account. As you wrote this in your article
Data from the abandoned profile will not merge with your primary profile, only your credentials are moved. You also risk leaving no authentication method at all associated with your other profile, which means you can never access it. Make sure this is what you intend to do.
it means, that we will lose the only authentification method to access his profile. My questions are as follows: - is there any other way to give his profile an authentification method other than his xbox live email? - if there isn't any other method, would not having a bungie.net account affect his gameplay experience in Destiny in any way (other than that we cannot access his Grimoire cards and move weapons between his vault and his character)? Best regards, Seraphim Crypto

When I first started using bunige.net I just signed in with my psn but I would always get signed out if I didnt use bungie.net for an hour or two and I would always have to reauthenticate Eventually I figured out if I linked my facebook account with my bungie.net account that the session would never(?) end and it was the same as signing in with psn like I can post on the forums, access my vault etc So my question is: When facebook is no longer a sign-in option will I constantly be signed out again? It doesnt seem like a problem with Sony because Im not getting signed out of psn just bungie.net(when i click authenticate it does everything automatically like i dont have to sign in the psn site again or anything)

That should cut the number of people seeking help online. Great news ... put a few more obstacles up and we could actually remove the help forum all together. No idea why other gaming sites have not adopted these safety barriers.

I have Destiny on both Xbox One and PS4, can I have both of my accounts linked to same bungie.net profile and have my characters and everything displayed on same profile? or I need separate profiles for both accounts?

Edited by III URBAN III: 3/19/2015 1:55:44 AMSeriously there's something weird going on with my main account which is LLL-URBAN-iii I'm unable to post new topics or reply to anything all of a sudden. It shows that I've posted in the threads but when I refresh the page my reply disappears It also said the last post I made was last Friday and anything I've posted after that isn't showing up. I've cleared the cache, deleted and redownloaded the app, I used my Bungie.net profile of 4 years which has now mysteriously disappeared and has changed into this one when i unlinked it from my PSN account. All this has randomly happened and I don't know why
