Red Death and the Crucible

So considering the power that Red Death brings to bear in Crucible play (especially after the recent patch), along with the fact that Xur has so generously made it readily available to any interested Guardian, what effects do you think this will have on the Crucible? I know Bungie put the patch in effect to try to get players to use a wider array of weapons, instead of mainly auto rifles. But according to what I have read on these forums, many guardians feel that the pulse rifles have simply replaced the autos as the most versatile and effective choice for PVP. Considering this, along the fact that Red Death is not only a monster of a pulse rifle, but a weapon intended to shine its brightest in the Crucible, I expect there to be a very large number of Guardians using it. What are your thoughts on this matter?

  • i think we'll see a sharp increase in the use of red death in pvp as everyone plays with their shiny new toy, and then, almost immediately we'll see a somewhat less sharp decline as people realize that, no, red death is not going to win every fight for you.
