I'm sure this has already been covered, but with the House of Wolves coming soon(ish?) and the Dark Below already out, I'm interested to hear what the opinions of others are concerning the aesthetic design of Warlock helmets. Just to be clear, I'm looking for constructive criticism as opposed to the classic "scuba-diver" insult.
Personally, I'm pretty disappointed for the most part. Mainly because of the helmets that look like this, this, and this. Now don't get me wrong, they're not that bad, but they're incredibly narrow and typically have that damn pointless bar running over the top front of the visor. However, what really urks me is how these kinds of helmets make up the vast majority of Warlock helmets! They're extremely impractical, unrealistic, and kinda tacky, visually speaking.
Now I'm not saying that bungie should ditch that look completely (that is very unlikely to happen in the first game's run), but rather continue the introduction of helmets like Light Beyond Nemesis, Viper Spine III, Facade of the Hezen Lords, and Nerigal Savant III/Obsidian Mind that feature more open and peripheral visors. There's nothing wrong with increasing variety, especially when the base designs for each class' armor is semi-uniform.
