Exotics to shoot for: Helm of Saint-14 Armamentarium Glasshouse Ruin Wings Helm of Inmost Light Honestly don't bother with No Backup Plans or Stand Asides. Crest of Alpha Lupi is good but very situational. I only used it frequently back when I didn't have Saint-14. If you get them as a drop great but save your coins for the first 5 exotic armor pieces I listed. Xur will likely sell most of these again and if he doesn't there's always the exotic engrams he sells. My best advice for playing a Titan is be a team player, that's what Titans are for. Keep your team alive, keep yourself alive. Go with Defender for PvE unless you're just screwing around in Roc strikes or story missions. Use Striker for PvP. Defender skills tend to get trumped by other classes more frequently than Strikers in PvP. Defender max defence/survivability build: Increased Control jump (for evasion) Suppressor or Magnetic grenade Blessing or Armor of Light Unbreakable (continuous Force Barrier recharge) Titan Codex I Bastion (increased WoD duration) Titan Codex IV Untouchable (reduced WoD cooldown) Defender team support build (my personal favorite): Suppressor or Magnetic grenade Increased Control or Increased Height jump Blessing of Light Gift of Light (Melee kills create orbs while Force Barrier is active. Great for mob spawns) Titan Codex I Gift of the Void (damage to WoD creates an additional 3 orbs of light) Titan Codex V Iron Harvest (Heavy weapon kills have a chance to create orbs of light) CE raid gear can drop with perks that grant a chance for orb generation when killing hive with a melee, a critical hit, or a grenade. Pair Iron Harvest, critical kill orb generating gear, and a Heavy MG and you'll drop a nearly endless stream of orbs for your team. Granted this only works with the hive (have fun with Omnigul and Shrek strikes. I know I do) but even without the raid gear and not against hive you'll still drop plenty of orbs. Defender max DPS build Suppressor or Magnetic grenade Any jump Weapons of Light (33% damage increase) War Machine (while Force Barrier is active all your weapons reload and ready blindingly fast. And when it says fast it means FAST) Titan Codex I Relentless (increased Force Barrier duration) Titan Codex IV Illuminated (Increased benefits of Blessing and Weapons of Light) Both the team support and survivability builds are best used with Helm of Saint-14 particularly the support build. Drop a WoD over a mob spawn location and punch the hell out of everything while they're blinded. Then when Force Barrier runs out switch to a heavy and clear out what remains. Your team can get 2-3 supers worth of orbs from you each time your force barrier is active if you do it right. Use Glasshouse or Armamentarium if you want to dish out as much damage as possible. Striker max DPS build: Lightning grenade Any jump Shockwave (as the name suggests FoH sends a shockwave along the ground) Overload (hits with Storm Fist have a chance to immediately reset its cooldown. Useless in PvP but great for PvE) Titan Codex I Aftershocks (increased duration of Lightning Grenade, Pulse Grenade, and Aftermath) Titan Codex V Shoulder Charge Striker survivability build: Flashbang Grenades Any jump Aftermath (FoH leaves a damage dealing field in its wake. Great for area denial, keeps enemies out of melee range) Overload Titan Codex I Transfusion (kills with Storm Fist or Shoulder Charge trigger health regeneration) Titan Codex IV or V Shoulder Charge (Juggernaught is pretty useless unless you're running straight at something to melee it. In which case you'd be better off with Shoulder Charge anyway) Strikers shine with Armamentarium equipped. Nothing better than having 2 of the highest DPS grenades in the game or 2 blinding grenades at your disposal. Get some high Discipline gear with perks that have melee hits decrease grenade cooldown perks and chuck nades to your heart's content. An Insurmountable Skullfort (exotic helm) has a transfusion perk and health regen on orb pickup allowing you to use Headstrong or Aftershocks instead of the Transfusion perk. Helm of Inmost Light grants both Headstrong and Death From Above which allows you to have both those perks, Aftermath or Shockwave and Aftershocks or Transfusion simultaneously. Amazing for both PvP and PvE. These are just my own personal suggestions. Others I'm sure have luck with their own strategies as well. Hope you enjoy your Titan. They're a good time.
