Fixed Rumble matches

Restrict Fireteams from joining Rumble matches

40

Leave them the way they are now.

I have another suggestion (please specify)

9

My complaint has nothing to do with weaponry, but rather moral standards of those who enter Rumble matches together & work together to offset what should be a legit Deathmatch. Too many times I've seen people join a Rumble match together & work together rather than fighting against each other as the rules of the match should be, giving an unfair advantage against the rest of the people actually playing legit. My suggestion in this matter is to restrict joining a Rumble matches if in a team already; meaning if they are in a team with somebody else, the game will not allow them to join a Rumble match. The only time I could say an exception should be made would be if a full team of 6 is formed, meaning a private Rumble match between those members & other people can't join mid-game if somebody leaves. EDIT: I knew there would be some people wanting to keep the old system; more than likely people that are manipulating the system in the way I've stated... Looks like 98 votes already for people who enjoy exploiting the system; this should be an indication to Bungie that something needs to be done about it. EDIT: Came up with a possible workaround to the point that the naysayers are crying about & that would be to make it so people who join Rumble matches while in a Fireteam instead have a private match without matchmaking. Ideally this same mechanic could also be used in modes other than Crucible matches (Strikes, RAIDs, etc.). At this point I am changing my vote to the third option to indicate this suggestion; I'll recreate the thread with the additional option if I have to. I have added a link directly to the comment that gave me the idea for this.

Considering this is still a problem & so many people are against a fair match, I decided it was time to include a video to prove what I'm talking about here. I'm not going to mention names (on the Bungie forums), but you're going to see what I'm talking about before I left. Had I noticed the teams when the match started, I wouldn't have participated in it at all (leaving before it even started).

  • Add private matches. Then we can remove rumble fire teams. Currently its the only way to prove who's best and the other people get in the way.

  • I play with my friends on rumble a good amount of the time and I can say. I do not like teaming with them. I like to make them scream from me killing them lol.

I'm adding a video here to prove a point, literally left matches before they even started due to having teams in them for nearly a half-hour tonight trying to get into a match that didn't have a team in it. I refuse to be in matches that have people exploiting the system, so the result is I leave any match I get thrown into via matchmaking where people have joined as a team.

      • Restrict fireteams in open games, and add private/invite only game type. Still has the potential to be abused, but only if all players in the party agree.

        • I love stomping out a fireteam in rumble, usually pve players trying to do thorn or get their grimoire up is my guess.

        • They shouldn't let people play in a fireteam in rumble. If they want people to play their friends then they need to create a separate private match for friends only. No exp gains, no bounty completions, and it doesnt count for pvp stats.

          • I take my raid team to rumble matches to show them how good they really are
I win every time
Usually only go with 6 people though. I won't do 5 and a random, that's not fair lol

            • Yup... I don't play Rumble very often, if at all; however, FireTeams which enter a "Free for All" with the intent on working together are not playing the playlist as intended. In Halo3 this kind of behavior was called "boosting" and was a BANHAMMER offense; however, with Destiny's RnG reward system it's not as big of a deal. You could argue that they're boosting Crucible bounties... and they probably are, but it still doesn't affect the RnG rewards.

                • So if your fire team of three just wants to have fun duking it out against each other in PvP we shouldn't be able to??? My friend and I go into rumble all the time and get laughs out of it BC its fun. Sure there are boosters for the Thorn Bounty but that is no reason to make it so fire teams that just want to kick each others but having fun not being able to do that.

Somebody want to tell me how you block people on this site? I know how to hide messages, but blocking them on the site would be useful if not already an option... This is one of the reasons why I find making polls on these forums pointless; troll--city turns threads into trash town, somebody call sanitation... >.<

                    • Dumb idea, then we couldnt even play against people we know... If you have a problem with taking on two or more enemies at once in pvp then thats YOUR problem. Not the games. I play against groups in ffa every damn day and i still shit all over their little fireteams.
