Believe in your allies... GET LOOT

Our team was a bit sloppy, we died a lot, had to boot the 12 year old, and find replacements before the Gatekeeper. There was a guy named Larry. He had a southern accent and died more than anyone else, but he claimed "I won't die again! I promise!" I didn't believe him.
I had considered leaving to find a more fit fireteam, but I put my faith in our friend Larry. I mean, he was trying hard. After many failed attempts, we defeated the Gatekeeper by skin of our teeth, just like earlier with the Templar. Atheon was brutal, but after ~10 failed runs we HAD to finish. Most of our team died, but Larry survived inside the time portal, and I was outside with about 15 supplicants. He killed the last oracle, but the portal wasn't open yet. I leaped onto the pillar with my trusty Icebreaker, sticky grenade, and not so trusty Atheon's Epilogue (NERFED). I killed about 4 supplicants as fast as possible, fired a last burst killing a 5th as the portal opened, and leapt behind cover, because I couldn't die yet! I warned him "the portal is open but covered in supplicants!" We both barely survived and made it to the center where we put up our bubbles. I realized I was the only DPS left, so I burned my sniper ammo perfectly, threw another sticky, unloaded my AR... but I realized I had one rocket left! We had one second left to live, so I leaped off, fired my rocket, and died a hero. Larry was the last survivor.
And that's when I got my Vex Mythoclast. Yay :D

5 RepliesWe were doing the vault normal difficulty (we were aroung 27 light level), still nobody of us had yet completed it. It was already 2 am and we were very tired, both from trying and the late hours. Our lowest level member kept insisting that he should leave the fireteam because he thought he wasn´t good enough for this, we said: No, you are from our clan, and most important, our friend, stay with us and keep trying" It was the fourth "relic assault" and atheon had like 4 pixels wide of health, but the time was about to run out. We stood in our places, punishing Atheon, but the worst happened, the shield vanished, two members died instantly, i was sent to the past (mars), and the lowest level (like 25 i dont remember exactly) remained outside. Almost all of us were like "its hopeless, we were so close in this one!". I grabbed the relic, trying to defend myself from the hobgoblins, but it was a lost cause. I died, and the screen began to flash red, from lost in the darkness of time. I just lowered my head, accepting my fate. Then everybody began to say: "WTF? I recieved loot?, Did he?...no he didn´t" Our last member alive turned around at the moment we were separated and shoot a rocket at Atheon. It was the last thing we needed to put Atheon out of his misery. He died too, But he is now remembered as "Atheon´s Bane". We recieved loot, The sparrow, the aspect of glass jumpship, shards, somebody got a gun, i think it was praedyths revenge. The loot wasn´t exceptional, but we were all happy, because it was the first time we did the Vault of Glass. Trust in your partners, and trust yourself.
