A few weeks ago I decided I would attempt to max out my Grimoire score without having a Gjallarhorn drop for me. I had already gotten all trophies/achievements without having the elusive weapon drop and with less than 200 points left to go it looked to be a very achievable goal.
By doing so I hoped to be able to show to both Bungie and the community that the current loot system needs to be re-examined. The idea that a player could max out their Grimoire, earn all the trophies/achievements and have 3 different characters all at 32 and still be no closer to obtaining a drop they wanted than a new player is not a concept I believe should be retained. While the drops are RNG and these instances could be statistical outliers, not having a way to work towards a goal accelerates player burnout.
I came very close, but with only 55 points to go Crota decided to pay out on my 109th raid completion last night. On a side note Crota did also give me my 8th No Land Beyond on the next run. Now the race is on to finish my Grimoire before I obtain the other exotic weapons that I'm missing.
TLDR: Purposefully tried to finish Grimoire without getting Gjallarhorn because RNG, got one near the end.

I'm fine with RNG but it should be weighted so you are less likely to get items you have already gotten.

I disagree with you. Any other way and it would be too easy. Not that it isn't already easy...

This is so weird. Good luck, I guess.

If I check your profile to see your grimoire score it says you never played destiny -.-
