ARMOR FORGE (with a picture to explain)
The above link solves the following problems:
1. The feeling of 'earning gear'
2. Looking the way I want to look
3. Doing the raid 50 times without a full set of armor
4. Scrapping thousands of under 32 armor pieces because they have no value
I don't know why it has to be more complicated than this.
Goal: get level 32 Crota gear
- Step 1 defeat crota and get drops 'Crota's broken armor' (blueprint) and 'dark light shard' (light 32 material) which drop together
- Step 2 take special drops to forge and choose the Crota armor piece you need
- Step 3 repeat until you have all the pieces
Goal: get level 32 Vault of Glass gear
- Step 1 defeat Atheon and get drops 'Glass Armor shard' (blueprint) and 'Ascendant Isotopes' (light 30 material) which drop together.
- Step 2 scrap 'Ascendant Isotopes' (light 30 material) and start doing Crota's End to get 'dark light shard' (light 32 material)
- Step 3 take 'Glass Armor shard' (blueprint) and 'dark light shard' (light 32 material) to the forge and choose the Vault of Glass piece you want
Goal: get level 32 vendor gear
- Step 1 purchase 'crucible bulwark' (blueprint) from vendor
- Step 2 start doing Crota's End to get 'dark light shard' (light 32 material)
- Step 3 take 'crucible bulwark' (blueprint) and 'dark light shard' (light 32 material) to the forge and choose the vendor piece you want
It's an easy way to allow you to find any gear you like the look of (and perks) and bring it up to any level by doing certain high level content.
also.... scrapping an armor piece would give you that set's 'blueprint'
