Snipers, a way to make then balanced.

Edit: thanks to everybody disagreeing with me. every rage post you make give me a free Bump so Deej will see my post. your Dooming your Own OP weapon by Arguing with me. Bungie has made Abundantly clear that they want Specal weapons to only be used in the range that they are specifically designed for. Shotguns no longer one shot people form across the room. Fusion rifles have a very hard time oneshoting people in mid long range. But currently Snipers can get kills at all ranges with no penalty of using them in close or mid range. and before you start the argument that " Snipers take skill", between fast RoF Snipers because able to 2 body shot people in the time it take the for a Slow RoF Sniper to fire one shot and the fast that the final round perk is bugged and will trigger not only on the last shot. but ask random shots in the mag, means that they are extremely easy to use and tell less skill then people thing. now Almost everything is fine about snipers, damage , handling and reload is all fine, so here si the simple change they need to use to get Sniper inline with all other special weapons. " while ADSing with a sniper, if you take damage you will be "Un-scoped/ De-Scoped( taking out of ADS)" and won't be able to ADS for .5-.75 seconds. this timer is reset of you take damage before the timer is over( you will always have .5-.75. seconds since you last took damage before you can ADS again.) this change will balance Sniper and let them be a long range soil weapons again. also Bungie did this is from Halo 2- Halo 3 to balance snipers

    • As with so many of the "balancing" ideas that people propose, you have failed to think of the adverse effects that this would cause in PvE. Getting unscoped would make snipers much more difficult to use in PvE, as there are many areas in the game where you aren't able to snipe from some high perch away from enemies. Most of the time you are still close enough for them to take a few shots at you. Descoping worked in halo. The way sniping worked in Halo made descoping a highly valued element, as the halo sniper was a very overpowered weapon at all ranges. It had full vision in front while using, 2 different room levels to snipe easily at different ranges, a very fast fire rate and reload speed, almost no recoil, and held a ton of ammo. It also required a high amount of skill to use effectively. All of this combined with the fact that players in halo had full mobility whole scoped in made people able to stay scoped in while moving around with ease. In this sense, descoping worked as it was the only effective way to combat a good sniper. Destiny snipers are NOT halo snipers. Few fire as fast or reload as quick. Nearly all of them have higher recoil. And when you snipe, everyone knows it because of a bright red light that people see coming out of your gun. Aiming down the scope is a bit slower and prevents you from moving too much so you can't run and gun with a sniper all that easily. Then there's the ADS that is present in Destiny that wasn't in halo. In Halo, you never actually looked into a scope. It was always just a link-up to your helmet, so you could zoom in and shoot accurately without having to bring the gun to your face. Being shot disrupted this link, and that was alright as all you had to do was re-click the stick to put you back in the scope. In Destiny, you actually aim down the sights. Being shot once would not necessarily make you stop doing so. It makes no sense on the control side either. While you're holding down the left trigger you're supposed to zoom, but descoping would add this awkward feeling of not aiming down the sights even when the trigger is held. You would have to let go and push down the trigger again, which is just a really awkward control set-up. Descoping was a very key element to halo. The way halo plays made it an essential component. However it does not belong in Destiny. Sniping may be a bit powerful in PvP, but then again so are shotguns and fusion rifles. And on the PvE side any nerf could very well ruin the balance of snipers. It is best left as is.

      • There already is a penalty for using them at close/mid range, it's called "get rekd' by a fusion rifle or shotgun" Seriously, if the sniper manages to get two shots on you before you kill them, you took too long. And yes this applies to Praedyth's revenge and other high fire rate snipers.

      • First things first, after checking your stats, it is very clear to me that you rarely, if ever, use a sniper rifle. Period. For anything. Since you don't know what you are talking about, it probably would be best for you to shut up now. *hands OP some tissues*
