I can beat this whole game with 3 weapons.

Pistol, Plasma Pistol, Shotgun. Game done in one afternoon on normal. Doesn't that bother people?

 •
Posted by: Sliding Ghost
Posted by: Dark Hunter21 - Well, you usually need to see them objectively. Whats your goal with said trooper?
To keep them out of the way and maintain control over them (which rarely works).
Posted by: Dark Hunter21 -Most of the time rocket marines are my hog passengers. As long as don't get beside an enemy, I come out alive. And I've been aching for a good Guass fight since Metropolis.(Well, one without a scarab at least.) When I first got Reach, I got on my Guass Turret, really excited. The marine drove me off a cliff, or straight into a wraith all 15 times. Really disappointing.
Reach has really screwed up pathfinding. Firing a rocket up close is something Flood would do. Kamikaze is something a berserking Flood would do. Driving through danger is something Flood would do. Personally, I blame the hog physics but it may also be inherent AI stupidity. Yes, very disappointing.
Posted by: Dark Hunter21 -Of course I assisted them. I mean I could say: Get some BR ammo from a previous room, and expect them to last on their for at least 10 seconds.
In H2, without assistance, overwhelming enemy fire brings down marines. In CE, without assistance, plasma grenades, sword Elites, and Hunters. I've seen players keep all of their marines alive in the T&R boarding battle on Legendary but I haven't seen players keep all of their marines alive on Gravemind Legendary. Even with perma camo. The Hunter fight before Valley of Tears is probably the hardest obstacle. Of course, if you block the marines with elaborate supply case blockades throughout the mission, it allows them to last longer and allows you to fight the Hunters without worrying about marines. All it takes is dual-wielded Brute plasma rifle shots in the back.
Posted by: Dark Hunter21 -Gravemind is my favorite level in the whole series, simply due to the fact you can have marines follow you , and you can have them tactically hold what you need them to hold. They are a huge reason I like marines in H2.
It is indeed similar to T&R and AotCR.
Hey Ghost, I'm back with 2 extra zeros to my name. Because 0's are cool? -Yeah, its really too bad nothing can be done with them. - Recent studies show Halo Reach marines are flood in disguise, no? -Hog physics rarely came into play. Pure unawareness did on part of the universal driving AI. - I did it on legendary. One time, and there was dieing and reverting to last save-ing. Much of it. I found enough bottle necks in each section to block with whatever I could find. Some sections-like the Hunter encounter, took some creativity. I relished every moment Elites and Brutes had to fight, so I didn't have to. I stocked my marines Beam Rifles (Beam rifle spam is surprisingly effective in a pinch) and carbines. I remember I was about to hit a checkpoint and a marine simply hurled himself off a platform. There was no rhyme or reason to it. He just did, and I knew I had to start back to the last point. There was much rage-quitting.
