Beginners, Low Levels and Casuals
So I don't get to play as often as I would like and I know that there are others in that category as well. I am curious what the clan recommends on how to best spend my time. I did the weekly herioc (shout of to gamer4christ123 for the carry!) but not sure what the most optimal use of my time is in order to balance both getting awesome gear and having fun.
Anyways thanks for the tips in advance. Feel free to add me. Anytime I'm actually on I'm down for anything.

There are alot of different ways to "get there." No one way is right or wrong, although some may get you there faster. That said, I've found that there are some things I like to do and some I don't enjoy as much - so grinding things I don't really enjoy wasn't a good way for me to "get there" on my three characters. If you enjoy the strikes, do them. If you don't - you can farm engrams and level up the cryptarch, do patrols for vanguard marks and a few strikes for leveling up. Crucible is fun with others for me, so I'm doing that now (mostly alone it seems) to level up and buy the crucible weapons that seem really cool and powerful. That's the great thing about destiny to me - lots of ways to get to the end game fun. :) Good luck and hit me up if you need someone to run with. :)

What Jay said. Just keep grinding vanguard strikes and get and level up vanguard gear to be level 31 then you can do crota raids. Level your vanguard gear fast using bounties, public events, and I think weeklys give you decent amount of xp for armor. For weapons just do VoG and Nightfalls and Crotas raid. The raids are perfect for weapons by the way. I've only been doing raids since Friday and I already have a ton of good raid weapons so for someone in your having time situation it really shouldn't take long :)

You guys are awesome. Thanks. Extremely helpful actually. In my first character I immediately bought and wore the New Monarchy class item which I think in the end hurt me becuase my Vanguard was so low. My current primary is working on Vanguard so I will keep pushing with that and ROC strikes.

If you can get up to 28-29, I'm sure we can get a group together to carry you through a raid. We did it last night in an impromptu raid (wasn't planning on doing anything but bounties). Besides that, ROC strikes will definitely be your best bet to get those marks up and buy the vanguard gear. The only piece that'll be really expensive would be the helmet (120 marks I believe), and the chest piece (75 or 80 marks I think). If you want someone to run with, feel free to hit me up, I'm always up for helping out :)
