What is Wrong With This Community?
I see so many toxic posts, hate, prejudice, egocentrics, people who can't admit they're wrong, unhelpful and scornful destructiveness, personal attacks and insults, and a lot more. Why are so few helpful? Why does there seem to be so many more terrible, disgusting people than there are kindhearted, constructive, helpful, and altruistic?
Why does everyone hate on DeeJ so much? Is it because everyone else does? He has a tough job dealing with people as I described above probably every day of he works. I know he's not the best community manager but you don't have to be a prick to him to point it out. Tell him how he could have done better if you actually want him to be better. Because calling him a pegboy, pussy, bitch, fag, et cetera, is not helping him in any way.
I just can't really understand... Do people enjoy acting that way? Does it empower their ego? Are they so insecure and weak they feel the need to be disdainful like a lot of others to be accepted? Or is it out of pure malice, and you just wish to bring people down?
There are better ways to deal with people, or things you don't like. Adding to that negativity will not bring about the change that so many will complain about. You don't need to be a dick to be recognized. You don't need to use personal attacks when trying to get a point across. For God's sake, stop being such a depressing and pitiful human being. You're really bumming everyone else out.

6 RepliesList of the people this community is made of: 32 Elitists, very common. Anti-Xurners, very common. Gjallarhorn/Icebreaker/Hawkmoon supremacists, tend to reproduce very quickly. Class supremacists, very common. Noobs wanting buffs/nerfs, spread like wildfire. Console supremacists, starting to go extinct. Trolls, very common, especially under bridges. People with idiocy-free minds, a very rare sighting.

3 RepliesIf parents for the most part wanted to be parents and not their child's "friend" the community would be a better place. I blame parenting for this community. Some of these people are kids and need s beating to teach them respect. Some of these jerks are adults and need a serious beating to make up for the lack of beatings they didn't get as kids.

If they didn't wanna be criticized then they should have acted like responsible adults and delayed thus game if they had to. They released an unfinished game. It was incompetence. And it had nothing to do with Deej. I just wish the Bungie employees would admit they screwed up and make up for it somehow. Take responsibility for the way this whole thing was handled. That's what men do. I'd honestly feel better about still playing this game if they would man up. When this game released I was just about to come back from deployment and I believed the hype not only because I was stoked to come home, but because they lied in their advertising. Or at least just come out and tell the public exactly what happened throughout the process of cutting back so much content and story. Like I said, I'd feel better tlif they just told the truth.

1 ReplyI agree with you. I have to admit I've put a very angry post on the forum a while ago, angry not offensive. Sometimes people get frustrated by all emty promises Bungie makes but not a reason to curse and swear to the community managers. I'm personally hitting a wall with destiny and bought DBZ but played for 2 hours and returned to Orbit to lvl my invective because after all the opinions I've read about patch 1.1.1 it's the best thing Bungie has done to the game yet. The problem lies with a lack of things to do in pve (content and an actual story) If Bungie holds up their poker face and ignore the community like they do now they will sell Comet to probably only half of the people who bought the game. messages on the site and app are becoming frustrating to many cause they are focused on a dying game mode. pvp isn't for the majority the interest, pve is. I understand that pvp is worth saving but if bungie doesn't turn their focus on pve for 100% the pvp will be their white wale and drag them under never to surface again. I like the idea of 10 years destiny but if they stay on this path it won't last for 2

Quite simple really. One is the vocal minority. Speaks much louder than the positive majority. Two is that most of the people who are content and satisfied are probably busy playing the game and not reading this board. Three is that the portion who are discontent need a place to vent - and this happens to be it. If it helps, just think of the forum as a communal coping mechanism. This board acts as a balance for people who are content enough to continue playing the game but discontent enough to need a place to bitch and moan about things. Finally, this community is probably a good sample of the wider population in general, in my opinion that is. Meaning that most people are bitter toxic cun*s and the anonymity of the internet gives them a place to release it, unmitigated.

Destiny has its flaws, but it's not as bad as many make it out to be. The types of assholes you will come across on this forum are: -People who say they quit because of <insert reason here>. Yet these people still hang out on these forums and play this game. -People who complain about <insert reason here>. Nothing wrong with some constructive feedback, but when it starts to talk about how bunjie screwed over their fans or whatever else, it's just complaining. -Comments about Deej I ignore, these children think a community manager has the final say about changes to a game. Another complaint is that he does not interact with the community, I'm sure he would of their was something constructive being thrown at him, instead it's just more acid. Any time the COMMUNITY manager posts something about the community, it is met with "fix this", "-blam!- you", "your not doing enough". Its laughable and I'm sure he is losing no sleep over it, the reasonable players understand his job and he probably would respond to that type of person. All in all, on any forum you will have your hot heads that will not quit even though they seemingly hate the game. They will find every problem and instead if offering constructive criticism, they blow it out of proportion. Luckily are community is not as bad as other communities, and that's a god send.
