A way to prevent deletions of characters on accident.

After the deletion of the kids 2 characters, which was sad and hard to watch, even if he supposedly cheated his way to get there, along with Bungie's mention in the weekly update, I have come up with a solution to fix the issue. In the next update, or sometime in the future, all players will be required to make a code, four digits we'll say. Then, when you delete things like characters or exotics, it will ask for the code, and if the code you have put in is correct, it'll allow you to delete it. I suggest that you repeatedly have to do it, just so it doesn't keep you logged in. For instance, you do the same thing as the kid, and you had your code in, they would have to enter the code again and wouldn't be able to delete anything. The problem is implementing this idea. I'm not sure how difficult it is to put in. Another is the players' complaining about how it is annoying to keep entering the code because we all know it will happen. I hope this gives sort of an idea as to how to solve the issue of accidental/trolling deletion. Tl;dr: We should make a code that we have to enter every time we delete something.

  • Look, I don't care if he got his characters deleted, sounds like he deserved it. However, putting security like that on a game that requires little(if any) personal information, sounds purely stupid, and using the code more than once is stupid too. If bungie's going to implement the code it should be once per hour, unless it's for things like exotics then there should be a confirmation not a code.

  • I call what happened to him Karma. Who gives a crap how old he is? The little punk was trying to cheat and he got a life lesson. Nobody should feel sorry for him, if he was like 5 years older nobody would give a crap. If he's old enough to know how to cheat than he's old enough for me not to care.

  • Just don't shareplay with strangers, as the world is full of douchebags. There is only a small probability that someone would delete his or her characters accidentally since you have to purposefully hold the button down for a long time, and then accept it. Let the developers actually fix the things that are broken with the game.
