Pahanin - Prognosis? Pahanin’s Ghost - You have been in shock, it has given your body time to begin healing. There is no way to know how long you have been asleep. I attempted to monitor your heartbeats in an attempt to track the passage of time. Assuming your heart beat was 60 beats per minute you have been unconscious for a little over two days. You will need at least 2 weeks for your leg to heal enough to start the trek back. Pahanin - I hope you have some good news. Pahanin’s Ghost - That was the good news. You are alive and your legs are still functional. It could have been worse. Pahanin - What is the bad news? Pahanin’s Ghost - We are low on supplies, our communications node at this location was destroyed so we cannot communicate with Kabr, and my Light is fading. Pahanin - Your Light? Pahanin’s Ghost - I have been active for an amount of time even I am not used to. I need a recharge, but that is not possible in this place. Pahanin - How much of a charge do you have? Pahanin’s Ghost - Time is irrelevant here, I could say days and then drop to the ground. Pahanin - How much supplies do we have? Pahanin’s Ghost - About 9 meals worth of rations. But we have a bigger problem. Pahanin - Which is? Pahanin’s Ghost - When I shut down you will not have access to your inventory. You will have no guns other than what you carry, and all your food rations will be lost. Pahanin - Have you come up with a solution? Pahanin’s Ghost - Given the situation, I am open to some creative thinking. Pahanin lay there and looked at the little Ghost. He had not been separate from it since it found him over a century ago, he was not sure what it would be like to be alone. Pahanin - Let’s create a realistic timeline to try and come up with a solution. Pahanin’s Ghost - Very well. In a few days…give for take the time dilation…you will run out of food. At that point, you will have a couple days at most. Given the climb you have, and the fact you will need to get to a communications node, your timeline will be slim. Pahanin - Why do I need to find a communications node? Pahanin’s Ghost - I assume by that point I will be offline. That means no communications, no sparrow, no star ship. You will need to get to a location where you can phone home. Pahanin began to realize the trek before him was going to be severely handicapped without his ghost. How often he took its abilities for granted… Pahanin’s Ghost - When you reach the surface we must assume there will be both Vex and Fallen you must fight through on foot. If I cannot access your inventory for you, whatever you have is what you can use. No ammo synthesis, no swapping guns. Pahanin - Damn. Pahanin’s Ghost - Indeed. I would recommend you choose your weapons now, fully load them, and conserve ammo during your trek. Pahanin looked at what he had. Icebreaker was a good choice, it would recharge ammo as he went. A scout rifle, while not the most versatile weapon, was probably his best bet for a primary, that way he could keep his enemies at a distance. A rocket launcher probably wasn’t realistic given his injury. A machine gun he could use to keep enemies heads down, and he could conserve ammo easier with burst fire. This still was going to be hard without his ghost. Pahanin - Is there no way to conserve your Light so you may stay with me? Pahanin’s Ghost - No. The issue is not conserving Light, it is using it. I have been conserving since you went unconscious, but regardless of my conservation I am still using Light. I need something to charge me. Pahanin - Very well. I shall keep my Icebreaker. Please give me my Proxima Centauri II and my Arc-based machine gun. I can use it against Fallen-shields. The weapons appeared before Pahanin and his rocket launcher and pulse rifle vanished. Pahanin - Please conserve your Light. Let me know if you think the time is near. I will rest some more, but I fear I must start the ascent before I am healed. And with that, Pahanin fell back asleep.
