Artificial difficulty is never a fun thing to come across as a gamer, it challenges you in belittling ways which in matter-o-fact is not a big deal by itself but overall can just ruin your day in enough amounts. The likely hood that you were going to hit a hill with random groups was high, but that shouldnt get you down because the more time the community puts in the easier the raid will be. My friends and I have downed hard mode crota five man before and it really is not a task of elegance and skill just monotony and repetitiveness. Either way is annoying to look at first glance but you really should learn to treasure those few success stories you have under your belt. Lag on the other hand is a rage quit moment... if anyone starts pinging low, you are going to have a bad time of it. I used to play VOG and i stopped playing with randoms for the same reason. Now I just play with some guys i found work well (connectivity wise) and stride to improve upon myself and them as much as I those little treasures taunt at me. 10 hours is nothing to be mad about. Most raids go unsuccessful for days, especially in flawless raids which are held on the normal difficulties. Some days are going to look easy in hindsight but that shouldn't stop you from continuing the pursuit of another dedication round with a group of fellow guardians just because you don't want to end up being disappointed in the end. Just fyi... your conclusion doesn't have much behind it. A few randomly matched crota end raids doesn't make you an expert on the seductress that is known as lag. No matter how many times it happens you are setting it up for failure but not using a steady group of guardians (10-12 usually is a great number, gives people chances to be on and get to know each other without breaking your back) if one guy doesn't show up in the end you should always find a replacement for him in retrospect. Whether that replacement is better or worse doesn't really matter... My sister just picked up fps for the first time for destiny and at first she was the finest scrub i have ever seen (failure to press buttons usually) I coached her through it and now she stands as a 31 besides me sometimes (usually i carry her but that's in debate i guess) In conclusion, what you said i will give the benefit of doubt and let you off with this rant. The whole idea of this game isn't to be numero uno brazil or anything like league of legends or World of Warcraft. The game is much much simpler and easier to get the hang of, but still needs the connections and direction to be progressive with things. Whether you get your strategy off of Youtubes or Twitch.tv or some other website in this world.(reddit) The mistake you take is to miss an opportunity to move on from solo game play and onto something greater than you could ever achieve by yourself. Sure it might take you weeks to figure out the guys who lag or glitch from the guys who don't but in the end when HoW drops and you have a team ready to go. It may not be 10+ hours until you get to the first chest. Who knows you could become something huge like Deej in the forums. I really don't wanna involve his name in this but he is a BIGGGGG topic right now and fits this well. Deej was somewhere in this world before Destiny and hopefully this is the start of a beautiful career for him.
