I have nothing better to do but kill your guardian and your KD until it sends you to orbit.
Enjoyed every second of this, more so than doing the actual strike. "YOU COULD'VE RAN X AMOUNT OF TIMES THROUGH STRIKES AND HURR YOU NEED TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU ARE WORSE THAN SATAN BECAUSE YADDA YADDA YADDA" Bruh, 919 strikes so far on my Titan alone. I'm good. Believe me. I'm set for vanguard marks and all that. Chill.
Edit 1: Holy crap, 14 likes? THIS WAS POSTED FOR FUN.
Edit 2: So... I'm guessing the Destiny community agrees with me? 27 likes so far.
Edit 3: I love the irony of all the people coming to the thread to tell me no one cares. Are you guys serious? lol
Edit 4 (THE BIG ONE):
He wasn't afk for a few minutes-
This guy was away long enough for us to push him to Hellmouth and drop him into the hole over 60 times. When he finally left, he was alive and had not produced a ghost. Either he shut off his console, went to dashboard, or the game returned him to orbit for being away.
He had/has a history of AFKing in games-
We looked on Destiny Database, looked at his recent games, and saw an obvious pattern. 15 of the past 25 games this player got 0-4 kills, several of the strikes were incomplete, and all were started with full fireteams.
The 'other guy' who was carrying us is my girlfriend, we were in a party together-
Yeah, again, assumptions make an ass out of some of you. She helped push him over, helped kill him all those times, and helped res him. We had a hell of a time laughing and making fun of the guy the WHOLE TIME. This was fun. Maybe even a bit of a bonding experience for us.
Killing him over and over was far more fun than actually running the strike-
We laughed, joked, and even put on Alpha Lupi to res him faster. We had some random there trying to help us and invited him to the party to talk. If the time is what has you bothered, it was late in the week. Vanguard mark were maxed, Sneezes had already gotten like 6 exotics from the Raids and from Nightfall. We were just playing to play.
"No one cares"-
Since apparently its a cardinal sin for me to mention the likes, lets say this: it was trending, tons of people commented, plenty of them seemed to care (either enough to complain or enough to say "JOB WELL DONE"). You are simply wrong.
Afk? AFK?! HOW DARE YOU, I HAVE NO KEYBOARD-
Well its really used as a general term. You're splitting hairs and have missed the point. Not sure what else to tell you.
BUT I AFK ALL THE TIME LIFE HAPPENS-
If you afk for a full strike, you are part of the problem. Yes, I understand, sometimes the dog needs to go out. Yes, I know, kids get into trouble. If you are away for a few minutes, no biggy. Come back, lets play, good luck. But if you can't sit down and play for like 8 minutes to finish a strike without being interrupted, maybe stop trying to play something that forces multiplayer. Or you know, don't have a kid you aren't ready for. http://images.wikia.com/mungyodance/images/3/39/1354237059761.jpg
We didn't use sparrows to kill him.
I will never ever carry an afker through a strike. No, its not hard to run. No, I will not let someone get a reward for not playing the game.
EDIT 5:
Quitters Never Win
While finessing a boss encounter is all well and good, you won’t appreciate the difference unless you actively participate in the Strike. That might make all the sense in the world to you, but there are players in our world who prefer to hang out in the rear with the gear and let their Fireteam brave all the danger.
Once again, John Hopson is on the case. User Research, after all, is all about the science of improving the player experience.
JH: In Destiny’s community, the efforts of a dedicated player can have a huge impact on the experience of hundreds or thousands of other players. Most of the time, this is awesome. When someone is willing to put in the time as a Raid sherpa, a clan leader, or a forum moderator, we all benefit and Destiny comes a little bit closer to its potential as a shared world.
Unfortunately, there are a few individuals who have put in that same level of monomaniacal effort into being jerks. Sitting idle in Strikes and PvP has been on our radar for a while now, but it’s become clear that a small number of the worst idlers are responsible for damaging the experiences of thousands of other players. One player not contributing in an activity might seem like a small thing, but it can make a Weekly Heroic Strike unbeatable or make a Crucible match unwinnable. Those little bits of damage to the experiences other players adds up over time.
This week, we’ve restricted a small number of the most toxic players from matchmaking. The restrictions we’re putting on their accounts are temporary and apply only to the activities where they were chronically idle. If the affected players keep up this behavior after the restrictions lapse, we will apply stronger and (eventually) permanent restrictions on their accounts.
How this policy applies to you:
1) It probably doesn’t. Do not panic just because you had to put down the controller in a Strike last week when the pizza guy showed up just as your fireteam reached Valus Ta'aurc. There is no way you will accidentally be flagged under this policy unless you are a truly dedicated idler, someone who has really gone out their way to repeatedly cheat their teammates.
2) Please be sure to use the reporting system to let us know how your teammates are affecting your Destiny experience, both positively and negatively. We will never act on player reports alone, but we use those reports to find areas and individuals where our automated detection systems aren’t working correctly. They are an invaluable part of how we tune the live experience of our game.
Bungie posted this, here: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=12738 Pretty sure that means we win. Go ahead, go afk.

2 AntwortenI guess I'm just not sure why you would want to waste time killing someone 69 times, when you could have finished the strike in half that time...ah well I guess whatever floats your boat.

5 AntwortenHad a guy literally hiding on Roc today.. Soon as we cleared the room he jumped up and moved on to next part, only to hide again.. Being genuinely afk is fine.. Just don't hide.
-
5 AntwortenI was switching out weapons at the begining of a strike and within a few seconds of the other 2 driving ahead I get a message that reads,"well?". I continue ahead trying to level up my guns and get to a point where I want to switch to IB for sniping. Also loading a heavy ammo synth. As im preparing for the next section I get a new message,"try doing some of the work instead of afking". My reply was, "why don't you stop trying so hard and just leave so I can solo it". He left, the other guy stayed. We worked all the remaining enemies and the boss, both of us got exotic weapons. Then the guy that stayed sends a message telling me good match. Lolz

6 AntwortenYou must feel so awesome. You know what would have been quicker? Just finishing it. Or going to orbit and starting a new strike. If this guy is afk'ing, I seriously doubt he cares about Kd. Your only hurting yourself by wasting your own time.
-
4 AntwortenBe you could of done the strike twice in the time it took to kill him that much. Just carry on regardless.
-
3 AntwortenI would have just killed the boss and got my shitty blues and moved on instead of wasting my time killing a random.
-
All I do is report them and move along, after punching them around a bit ;)
-
14 Antworten1). Playing strikes with randoms is silly. 2). No one (except you, apparently) cares about k/d. 3). LoL it took you almost 30 minutes to do a Summoning Pits strike on the Roc playlist.

Bearbeitet von Striker93175: 1/19/2015 8:29:28 PMI've got all night. I've got while I sleep. All day at work the following day. All that night... The best part about not really having anything to do in destiny. I'll out afk afker. Just go do something else before bed time. *shrug*
-
whenever someone doesn't participate or go afk during a strike and the complete a strike without dying shows up, I normally will wipe so they die as well
-
Bearbeitet von Kalibane: 1/19/2015 8:32:47 PMDo you honestly believe someone who afks during strikes gives a damn about their KD in PvE? But you know congrats on time well spent.
-
2 AntwortenHad someone in a strike last night. He would show up and hid in a corner until the fight was over. We get to the next zone and he would show up and hide in a corner. Best part is I got an exotic at the end and he got crap. You are welcome to check my last game played for their name and stats.

See I don't end up with people who AFK They just run around collecting chests and if I don't progress they leave Typically i end up alone
-
5 AntwortenI would care if it took more than 15 min to solo a roc strike
-
79 AntwortenDude what's the big deal does it really bother you that much?? Or is it that you don't have enough skills to finish strike by yourself
-
8 AntwortenI hate them too, but I wouldn't waste time. I just report, block and head to orbit. Why get all worked up? Eventually they'll get a ban from live if people keep reporting them for cheating
-
7 AntwortenWhat is afk
-
I always use the report button. I'm sure it doesn't do anything, but still something I hope counts as effort
-
1 AntwortenIv had this happen loads of times sometimes I just go 2 orbit n restart the strike.
-
I had a guy sit and wait the whole strike and then show up on his sparrow for sepiks. I ran out by where the walker was, grabbed mine, came back and gave him a little death slam into the wall. The entire sepiks fight consisted of me taking a few shots and then dodging the afk'er on his sparrow, trying to ram me unsuccessfully. Quite hilarious...
-
2 AntwortenThe only time I afk is just for a few min because im either pissing, getting a drink, or packing a bowl. I'm impressed with how many times you killed him in that short of a time.
-
3 AntwortenDoes KD even matter tbh? I don't afk in strikes or anything and hate when ppl do it too. But I wouldn't care much if u did that lol. Its a kd that no1 in game can see
