Thunderlord: Stat wise it follows traditional more impact less fire rate build for machine guns. However, with it's perks it eliminates the concept of this gun firing "slow".
The first effect upgrade is feeding frenzy where kills grant faster reload speed. Almost immediately this is a good start for Machine Gun because of their notoriously slow reload.
It's second effect upgrade is Lightning Rounds. This is the center piece of the gun because not only does it fire faster when you hold constant fire, it also becomes more accurate.
Finally the middle three upgrades effectively benefit this gun. If you're using Perfect Balance, stability is increased so much that accuracy is achieved quickly when coupled with Lightning Rounds. Field Scout gives more ammo, more ammo = more shots fired = more effective Lightning Rounds. Flared Magwell destroys the whole idea of waiting for your Thunderlord to reload, faster reload prepares ammo faster which can be used earlier achieving Lightning Rounds immediately.
Super Good Advice: Low impact but high fire rate. This also means relatively low range and low stability.
First effect is Crowd Control, which is arguably the best upgrade for machine guns. It allows you to gain more damage every time you kill with this weapon.
Second effect is Super Good Advice, which can bring missed ammo right back to the magazine. Note it will bring some back, not all of them.
Overall the real reason why this gun doesn't perform as well as it should is that the middle column effects don't compliment it's abilities as well as Thunderlord does. The first of these effects is Single Point Sling. This makes aiming faster, especially when using heavy weapons. However, the differences between having it and not having it is pretty insignificant because aiming is already pretty fast in itself. The next effect is Hand Loaded, increase range. While this negates some of it's accuracy issues. It's not enough to overcome them because of it's terrible stability. Finally, like Thunderlord, it gets Flared Magwell. However, unlike Thunderlord, Super Good Advice has notoriously slow reload. To put it into perspective, when both weapons reload without Flared Magwell, Thunderlord reloads twice as fast as SGA.

Single Point Sling gives the weapon +50% ready and away as well as a 10% movement speed boost. Ex. Bad Juju with Single Point Sling (if it could get that perk) would have 50 ADS, 75 ready, and 75 away.

Bearbeitet von Acesforever: 2/17/2015 9:55:29 PMDon't forget- once thunderlord's perk is unlocked, it will occasionally make hit enemies explode in a blast of lightning. I've got both, and use them both equally in different situations. Thunderlord is a boss killer. But super good advice makes shots count.

I have both at 331. To totally benefit from TL last perk you really need a mass mob or a boss in close to medium range so you can dump the whole magazine. Otherwise the perk becomes useless. The final perk on SGA is actually really good and works. I held down the trigger shooting at nothing and on average, every 10 shots would lose 1 bullet out of the magazine. The rest were returned. With a full magazine it felt like I was holding the trigger down for an age before it ran out. Overall, I would pick TL over SGA(unless solar burn of course) but they are both good weapons, each have their strengths and weaknesses like everything else though.

I also have both thanks to getting TL from VoG last night. Was up in the air about which to upgrade first. Thanks for the input.

Super good now says 'almost all' Summat like that

Bearbeitet von Angel_Soren: 12/24/2014 10:05:49 AMAlmost all is still not all. This is a big difference since the base stat for the gun gives it really low stability and range meaning you are very likely to miss.

The stability is way up since the antinerf. I'll level it someday and check it out like a whirling dervish against thrall etc

Yeah but the OP is asking for a comparison with Thunderlord and SGA. Compared to Thunderlord, it's stability is still awful especially since the only real way it has to relieve it's inaccuracy is with Range upgrades. Unfortunately even though it can shoot targets further, having to fight your weapon on where to shoot is still a big deal.
