The question is... with only the ability to get to level 31 light, does Iron Banner seem to serve a purpose for you?
Me personally, NO... not at all. Most of us already got level 31 via vanguard or crucible rep/marks anyway. So what does the current gear offer over that other than a time sink?
Maybe you like the way it looks and want to collet the gear? Yeah, that's how I thought in previous Iron Banner... but this has enlightened me to realize the next Iron Banner will make this current gear obsolete, and so on... over and over again each Iron banner.
If there was a way to upgrade my current gear that I worked for, I would play Iron Banner... but for now, It offers ONLY a reward that will be stripped away the next Iron Banner that gives gear I can get to level 32.
So for now, this Iron Banner I will pass on. And maybe get the Iron Banner gear for next time... But wait, the next DLC will make that gear obsolete, just like my current gear is... Will I ever play Iron Banner again?
Edit: As of 4 hours into the thread: 300 votes for No/not really vs. 61 Yes. Bungie, please listen to the community and revise how you are doing this game... specifically Iron Banner. Power may matter, but if the rewards aren't worth it... that power will never be used.
EDIT#2: Basically 84% of the voting is NO or Not really votes. 62% is outright NO... I think this speaks for itself Bungie.

The thing is that the gear stat allocation is not better than stat allocation on vendor gear. This is a huge problem as IB should be the best PvP gear. Rather, if you are looking for INT and DSC which are the two stats most PvP'ers are after for improved cool down to super and grenades, you are better served by going with Vanguard legs and FWC arms. There is no point in grinding this gear. With husk now an option for best auto rifle, you additionally really have no need to grind rank 5. The only purpose this IB serves is to grind rank 4 for the sniper rifle.

Literally the only reason I'm playing it, is for that spear. Damn good sniper, one more rank to go. I did manage to get a ship and the dragons breath so that was a plus.

Bearbeitet von ScreamingEagleV: 12/19/2014 8:02:19 AMIf the light level of the rewards were to be 36 thered just be a load of elitists on the forums complaining about "fake 32's". I mean really, weren't there a lot of people complaining how easy it was to get to lvl 30 because of the last iron banner? And now you all want max lvl gear less than a month after the new expansion. And maybe, just maybe, this event wasn't made for those of you that already have lvl 31 gear. Maybe this event is to give players a chance to lvl up to 31 fast so they can play the new end of crota raid.

Love Iron Banner. Sad to not be a part of it this time. I was even grinding my new Suros and Helm of Inmost Light to prepare and get to level 30 for it. But well, not this time I guess. I already have 31 light amor and don't really want to just throw away a new pair of shoes like that. But if IB 3.0 had helmet or chest armor rewards I'd be playing it. Guess I should be prepping for the raid/leveling Eris and stuff anyway...which is fun too. :)

Waste of time. Its just the same shit

I highly enjoy Iron Banner WAY over normal crucible, and I really don't understand why. I play it because I want that auto rifle and the ship, OH HOW I WANT THAT SHIP.
-
I'm playing through it on my Warlock. My goal is to get him to level 30, so it's helping with that. Plus the loot I'm getting isn't half bad. New Perun's Fire, Act of Instinct, and Birth of History so far; and I can finally spend all my Glimmer on stuff. Tomorrow I'll hit Rank 5 and purchase both items available upon the final rank.

1 AntwortenNot in the least. The only reason I even participated in the last one was to get gear in the hopes of hitting 30 before the DLC, but now it's kinda meh. From what I have been hearing people have been re-rolling legendaries and they go to old legendary standard.
-
ib 4.0 will come with 36 light gear calm down guys
-
No. Armor should've been light 36
-
2 AntwortenThey should have made vendor gear 30 and iron banner gear 31. Then it'd make sense
-
1 AntwortenDoes not interest me as I can get 31 gear from the tower. And I'm not a huge fan of the PvP. Want I really want to see are more PvE events.
-
I found that the weapons are the only thing I like to collect from Iron Banner. I think they really need an overhaul on the reward system in the crucible. Wins should give 5-6 marks and losses should reward 3-4 marks. The top 3 in either loser or winner side should have a higher % chance to receive a legendary or greater reward or even a chance to reward them a commendation. Right now the randomness of the reward system in crucible does not work well.
-
I got all the rewards I wanted last Iron Banner, but I'll probably still play a bit.
-
Iron Banner gear should raise light to level 32, and there should be some pretty sweet unlockables from it. Otherwise, people aren't going to do it this time. The trouble for Bungie is on one hand, higher levels expect to receive good gear or they won't play it, but on the other hand, they don't want another rage-war about "faek lvl32's" like what happened with level 30's after last Iron Banner. Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place for them, lmao
-
I really enjoyed the last one, it was heaps of fun but the gear is the same old shit and only 31. I think is still play if it utilized the new pvp maps but it doesn't so who cares
-
No point at all unless you are just a hardcore crucible player.
-
Already have the gauntlets and boots, not really worth it to level up my iron banner to waist glimmer and shards to upgrade just so they are level 31. Plus they will be outdated once the next dlc comes out and then you'll have to do it all over again. They are doing everything wrong with this game.
-
I already have level 31 gear why would I do IB for different level 31 gear? Not to mention I don't like autos or snipers that much so nope nty
-
The exp from the bounties is gna be the only reason why i do it
-
Sadly not this time around. I took part in the last two & managed to grind to get the Goldspiral shader & the other gear. I really like the way the gear looks but I'm pretty disappointed that it's now obsolete and that there is no way of upgrading it. Instead the only option is to start the grind all over which is pointless as I'm looking to get my hands on a bit of Raid gear this week. I also think a week isn't long enough and two weeks would make it more enjoyable for people that don't have endless hours to sink into the crucible. In short I have everything I need from Iron Banner (shaders, emblems etc) so I'll be giving this one a miss. Still wouldn't mind a go on that sniper though...
-
Lol 59% say no so far
-
It didn't interest me to begin with, but I was going to do it if there was a chest armor for warlock. Even though I'd be a 31 now I'm reluctant to getting the vanguard chest piece because I think it looks retarded. Now I'm just hoping to get lucky and get the raid chest without having to purchase the vanguard armor
-
1 AntwortenI'm only going to do it for my exotic bounties I've been saving.
-
I am not sure yet... I would like the cool looking gear, but once I get the new raid gear, I will never wear it. Its a shame we cant upgrade legendary gear to higher quality levels like we can exotics.
