"Reasons not to have matchmaking for the hardest bits of destiny"
It's annoying enough that with strikes, it's getting to be one in three strikes that we get some asshole who doesn't help out at all. Or if they are active, They just run around at spawn chest farming while we work through the level. It's always great when you see someone get a legendary or an exotic when they didn't help or really do anything at all in the match. I hear it's a problem in the crucible too. So sure, lets add that to the hard runs, Nightfall, VoG, Weekly and Daily. Lets see just how many more people start abusing this crap and not even playing the game just to get items. "Whelp, time to go to class and leave my PS4 logged into nightfall raids so I can come home and have the loot and xp / rep bonus later"
Be social. Get some friends to play with. Meet people in game or on the forums. Matchmaking is just a bad idea for Nightfall and VoG.

Yes, let's not invent any further technologies because few people got hurt by previous techs and others think science is witchcraft and scientists should be burned on a stake. But seriously, your reasons for not having matchmaking don't really make good reasons because MATCHMAKING IS NOT MANDATORY! Build a team before you launch a mission and no random chest farmer, or whatever is haunting your strikes, will enter. It's funny how I've never had any issues with my random teams and you seem to be overrun by AFKers/chest farmers.

It seems that you've just had a bad experience. I've played a tons of great strikes with three players all the way through from the outset. Not Dave, not all Guardians are jerks. Those who go AFK should get an auto boot.

Yea it will kick you in orbit if your inactive after like 10 mins. I agree 100% with you. We should have the option to mm if we want. The small percentage that have completed it truly beleive they are privileged and everyone else doesnt deserve a chance to casually raid. People act like its real life and the world will end if mm was implemented.
-
what do you think about a kick-vote system in addition to the mm? if 2 of 3 (66%) decide to kick the afk'ler - he'll be send to orbit... i wonder why this option isn't included already - it's common for most of the auto-matchmaking games i know (and essential ;-) )

Because kick function in random groups = Abuse. Picture this; you get thrown in with two randoms, both of whom just happen to be friends IRL. You fight all the way to the end boss, and just after you cleared all the adds and the boss is on 20%, they both 'vote' you out of the party and invite one of their other friends in to take the spot; what do they care? They'll likely never even see you again. And there would be nothing you could do about it :( Possible solution: Unless you added something similar to the WoW kick/vote system, where you could not kick someone if anyone in the party was in combat?

Kicks shouldn't be decided by players in random teams. I've got a better idea instead! Random advertisement! You get 50% of your screen filled with ads and if you don't click them from time to time you get auto kicked :P

I remember when runescape did random events to weed out bots.
