Diablo III - Console Edition

Because we're too hipster for GTA V. This was the moment I had been waiting for. For three paychecks over the course of a month, I'd been stockpiling my spare cash in an envelope labeled 'Entertainment'. When that envelope began to bulge with the glorious shape of eight $10 bills, I knew that the time had come. I mounted my noble steed (a grandmother's vehicle known as the '1999 Buick Century') and sped to the nearest blue-laden shopping hall of wonder. My legs were jittery with excitement as I ambled through hordes of toothless, greasy hobos and their ilk. I eventually reached my destination: this was the moment I had been waiting for... I stood before a giant wall of glass, peering into it in hopes to see some semblance of the words 'Grand', 'Theft', 'Auto', 'V'. All of a sudden, as if placed before me by the hand of God, I saw it: a lone copy of GTA V rested in the upper-left corner of the glass chamber. I was preparing to call for an angel dressed in blue when, in the corner of my eye, I saw something shiny. My eyes were drawn to the object; I began to read aloud in a hushed, quiet voice, "Diablo... Three..." I was torn. I had been waiting for Diablo III's console release for a very, very long time. And now, there it was, reaching out to me through glass walls of wonder. An angel in blue strode to my side and uttered "which one do you want?" I turned to him, my soul being torn and twisted from the decision I was being forced to make. I retorted "this is no mere hasty decision, angel in- -okay, it's 6.27am. I'm going to cut to the chase. My spur-of-the-moment decision resulted in the purchase of Diablo III for the Xbox 360. I hadn't played Diablo III on the PC, so it was a whole new experience for me. I was iffy about the archaic camera-views, but I quickly realized that the gameplay would have been hindered if the camera were placed anywhere else. Yes, I realize that a top-down view is a staple in dungeon crawlers. I played Baldur's Gate, Diablo I and II, etc., but that was ten years ago. I was expecting Blizzard to reinvent the genre, and they did, just not in the way I was anticipating. 4 weeks and 68 hours later, I'm still playing Diablo III during my downtime, and I'm not even remotely tired of it. The character progression is ingenious, the loot is addicting, and I WILL GET MY BLACKSMITH TO LEVEL 10, DAMN IT! I haven't played GTA V yet, and I'm aware that I'm missing out, but I'm perfectly content with Diablo III for the time being. I have a level 50 witch doctor, 20 barbarian, and 18 demon hunter. The barbarian is a helluva lot of fun, the witch doctor makes me feel conniving and crafty, and the demon hunter provides a challenge because the class is so squishy early-game. Have you played Diablo III - Console Edition? If so, what did you think of it? Sound off, Bungie Community!
