Why does my look sensitivity change when I'm sprinting?

So, since halo 1, I've been cranking my look sensitivity almost all the way up.. It's pretty much the first thing I look for in an fps. Destiny's got that base covered (although sound sliders are MIA...). However, when sprinting, all of a sudden, my look sensitivity, drops to 2 or 3, when i have my senaitivity set to 9 or 10 and I find myself running into/against walls trying to turn around without stopping sprinting.. Mainly for shoulder charge.. Turning my sensitivity all the way up doesn't help, the lowered sensitivity seems to remain the same (doesn't seem to scale with the base sensitivity). Can we drop the lowered look sensitivity effect from sprinting or at least make it optional in the settings? Or is this part of the design? If it is, does someone with insider knowledge care to explain why it's there? What made it necessary?

    Working as they wanted it to be designed. Bungie talks about "weapon down" moments when you make a tactical choice between being ready for combat, or engaging in actions that transition you between/through combat (like sprinting or ascending the double jump). It's meant to encourage forethought rather than have you rely on reactivity, especially in PvP. This is aided with the always-on Radar that detects crouching or invisible players, too. Technically speaking, nobody can ever actually sneak up on you. That's also why there's the internal sprint cooldown.
