Strikes take "20-60 minutes" a piece. Strike [b]playlists [/b]have selectable difficulty for effective levels higher than 20. Surely you people must have a wide range of opinions on this, as on anything else.
Now that Bungie has put the raid matchmapocalypse firmly into the realm of "crap you people don't get a vote on right now", I'd be interested to hear any non-psychotic speculation on this other interesting thing we haven't seen yet or talked about to any great extent.

First person who suggests that they should be changed/nerfed/removed/expanded/etc before the game is released will be stabbed repeatedly in the left eye. Only the first one though, my stabby arm gets tired pretty quick.[/spoiler]

Strikes really aren't meant to drag on like raids, as in a mmo dungeon, there meant to get you the gear you'll be needing for a raid. And with such a large loot table that you'll be earning from, you'll have to farm strikes repeatedly, and if strikes lasted an hour everytime, they might not really even be worth the time you're spending
