Bungie's engineer Roger Wolfson has already made it clear.
“Let’s say Destiny 2 [and] Destiny 3 are out, and we have new players joining the fun. [They] want to play those new games alongside those who have been playing Destiny from the beginning. [We want to ensure] they won’t feel like they’re four years behind. And then, if they want to, they’ll be able to go back and pick up the old content on their same character. So we’ve done a lot of planning for how that’s going to work, to not make people feel like they have years worth of levelling up to do.”
What this means, players whom have not played the Beta does not have any disadvantages for having a late start.
Hence, you know what this means ;)

Getting to Lv8 took only 3 to 4 hrs. I would like to see importing a Guardian to future games just like Mass Effect did. I see this as big business catering to the masses and not the fans/gamers who are putting so much into making there dream/game a success. Oh and don't take this to hart. I love the game and can't wait to play the full game in September. Def an amazing game. 10 out of 10 from me. #bungie

What if they balanced a skill cause it was to strong, now people who used it have inflated numbers because of it. Or the disadvantage others will have when you're owning in PvP with your upgraded character, while people who couldn't play beta are getting frustrated. It's beta, I'm not sure why this is even a thought on these forums.

This is just not true. There is a substantial amount of games that were in Beta and transferred to final. Almost all MMO's on PC. If someone is getting annihilated in PvP because they jumped right into it at the beginning... Then to me that sounds like a personal problem. They should play the story or what have you and Lv up first. This just sounds like a fix to a problem that will never be fixed. What is the difference of someone starting PvP on day one at Lv 3 or 4 and getting annihilated on day one? Or the same thing happening to another when he or she picks up the game a few weeks or months after it comes out? Doesn't sound like this theory makes since now does it? All I am saying that I would just like to see something carry over. Rather it be stats, abilities, equipment, ships/sparrows, or a combo of these. I know it seems like I angry about this whole thing. I'm not really. I'm just not a fan of catering to the masses over fans or lowering the standard.

Been playing MMOs for years and I've never been apart of beta and had my character transfered over, nor heard of one.

I played beta on eso and is currently playing it. I was in a ton of betas and has never had my character or anything transfer over to launch.
