While I don't have an opinion on whether it should be raised or not, people may want to be careful not to raise it too high. A lot of low skill jobs can be replaced with machines and robots and they are more effective than people.

Possibly. I doubt they'll be as cheap to purchase and maintain than a human being any time soon though.

If minimum wage were to jump to $15 I'm sure more places would be looking into it.

No guarantee that $15 an hour will be more expensive than overhauling the whole system with experimental technology that has never been in widespread use. Robotics hasn't yet advanced to the point where we can accurately predict when machines will be able to completely replace human workers.
