Why did you get an 870? Buy a $200 Mossberg Maverick 88, high quality gun for an extremely low price.

Because I bought my 870 two years ago when I was shotgun ignorant. Picked what I wanted on it and had Remington build it for me. The 870 is probably one of the most iconic pump guns in history. There is a reason the design has been so successful for so long. When it comes down to it, it's a great shotgun, it's just that Remington's quality has taken a shit which is really sad. Frankly, it's a great gun. I love my 870. Reliable, rugged, and fun to shoot. I've never been really keen on Mossburgs. I just really didn't like them. I don't like where the safety is, I don't like the feel of them, I don't care for the way they look either. Just not my thing.

Do you mean the safety that is on top of the gun? Because the Maverick 88 has the safety in front of the trigger, like on a handgun. They feel like a shotgun, and they look like a shotgun. I do not understand. The inner mechanics of the Maverick 88 are incredibly simple as well, and you can take it apart quickly, clean every component, and put it back together and remember every step your first time.

I just plain old don't like Mossburgs. Simple as that. Just like I plain old don't like Glocks, and I receive hate for that.
