I would like a 'board feature on vehicles, but also on bigger enemies the size of a (halo) hunter or bigger. would this add or take away from the game?

As an assassination, it would be pretty amazing, and would only work if you had snuck up on them, giving you the need to plan ahead of time for it with your allies. If it was for a control type like god of war, then it would be a bit too much

Cabal... nough said...

It's entirely likely; I believe I remember from a long time ago, perhaps in a weekly update? ..that they had thought about including enemy boarding for Hunters in Halo: Reach or something. My memory is vague and I don't remember where exactly I got that info, but I've always thought it'd be pretty cool. I think it would really add to the combat if it required strategy and wasn't too easy. Make it tough to get around to the back and the right spot, time a few attacks to get the enemy to open up their weak point, and plunge a grenade inside their armor or something. That would be sick. And the Cabal look so enormous and tough, I almost feel like we would need something like that to even the odds from time to time while taking on a group of them, and use a buddy as a distraction.

So does anyone think assassinations will make its way into Destiny and if so do you think their should be different types of assassinations specifically for the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock?

Bearbeitet von WurstsaIat: 5/14/2013 12:26:17 PMI'd really like that, but just if it is possible that you get thrown off. And there should be more than one climbing animation so that you're not always climbing and hanging on them in the exact same way. EDIT: Did you mean that you can control the enemies after climbing on them? That would be strange and I would disagree with you in that case.

Bearbeitet von Progo: 5/13/2013 9:52:51 PMAm I really the only person who figured out how to stand on top of a live hunter in Reach?! It can be done in Reach with a jetpack, I'll find someway to do it in Destiny lol! (of course it's not boarding)

Bearbeitet von externalmemory: 5/14/2013 1:10:04 AMYeah. I hope close-quarters combat is made as interesting as possible. Guns are frankly boring, and we're oversaturated with gun games. I was a little disappointed when I found out Destiny was going to be another decade long gun-centric Bungie franchise; at least Star Wars had lightsabers and shit. At least there's space magic or whatever the hell that is to break up the monotony. The world and fiction right now are more appealing to me than anything revealed about the gameplay; I do hope theres more variety than what has been thus far suggested.

Bearbeitet von EliteFrench fry: 5/13/2013 9:24:50 PMI think only oversize enemies should be able to be climbed on if this feature is implemented. I believe Dragon's Dogma has a good system of climbing large foes, though i'm not sure it would work well in Destiny. Vehicles should definitely be boardable.
-
I don't think "boarding" a large enemy such as a Cabal and then controlling it would make much sense. I remember watching a vid of all the things Bungie cut from H3, and it had a build of Tsavo Highway, showing the player boarding giant Brutes.
-
I picture it similar to God of War. You might mount a cabal or something and take control of it for a small period of time, after which you would execute a final kill move.
-
That would be pretty -blam!-ing awesome. Like the Halo 4 campaign assassinations?
-
The cabal guys you could in theory climb up there armour i guess maybe it would turn into button mashing etc of climbing up grabbing holds etc and moving to get up to a weak spot etc
-
As long as it's handled well I am not against it. I definitely approve of the vehicle boarding for sure.
-
It completely depends on what form of vehicle are in the game. Certain kinds I think would be awesome to board, however I would like the boardings to be of realistic quality at least.
