I really hope that Destiny doesn't end up being like Fable. Bungie seem very keen to talk about how they've got all these awesome capabilities to do things with their engine and all that, it brings to mind Molyneux's boasts about how trees will grow in real-time and all that.
From what we've seen so far, honestly I think that Destiny has a lot to live up to and right now I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be with this new IP. The music especially has put me off, there's only one track I've heard so far that I like and that's because it sounds like something lifted directly out of an Elder Scrolls game - seriously, if you put it in a Skyrim or Oblivion gameplay video, I probably couldn't tell that it's from a different series. From the guy who is hailed as the industry's best composer ever of all time, I feel like I ought to expect more from him than what I've heard.
I've seen a lot of people on this site already throw caution to the winds and already claim that Destiny is going to be the second coming of gaming Christ. I am conversely keeping my expectations relatively low so that I might be all the more appreciative and blown away by what I hope will be an amazing game.

Tho i respect your feelings and opinion about the game thus far i would disagree with you given Bungie's track record. Alot of people are throwing caution to the wind because of this plus not to many companies are willing to try to pull something like this or have the support or financial backing to do so....its funny you mentioned Skyrim because i have the same "It won't fail"-feeling for Skyrim that i do for Destiny...still playing Skyrim.

The thing with Skyrim that essentially provided credence for people feeling it would be great before release was that it was Bethesda doing what they'd been doing since the early 90s with RPGs. Bungie have made it pretty clear that this whole project is them entering a 'brave new world' on every front, the only real familiarity being them sticking to the FPS genre. Nobody should ever throw caution to the wind when it comes to things like this because ultimately you set yourself up for potential disappointment. Ultimately, justifying it by saying "it's Bungie" doesn't really mean anything because they're just as fallible as any other gaming company out there.

Are you talking about the Alpha Lupi Track?

The one that plays in this trailer.

Hmmm, personally I think it sounds very different from the Elder Scrolls soundtrack, but I can understand that there are simillar themes. What do you think of Eighth? This is technically the first bit of Destiny's Music that we've ever heard.

Eighth is one of the better tracks I've heard. I liked the celestial, fairytale-esque feel of it in the beginning but to me it didn't feel like it was really building up to anything? This is where lack of context comes in, it could be a simple atmospheric track or something that plays at a pivotal point in the game, I don't know and I'll probably appreciate it more with context. It's primarily the track from the first ViDoc that put me off, not because it was bad, it wasn't, but it just sounded like Requiem combined with To Galaxy. So far it doesn't look they've managed to separate themselves from Halo the way it was implied they would, the art style shows this most of all. For me, it's a tad disappointing to wait three years and then what they come out with next looks startlingly like a Halo game. I'm seeing a lot of Forerunner-esque architecture and New Mombasa architecture and was not impressed, especially so when I saw Mass Effect 2 security droids and what looks exactly like a Blue Suns merc.
