I recently started to receive the Weasel error like several other players on Wednesday night, around the time of the Destiny 1 update. I get it on Steam, Epic Games, and Xbox/Windows. However, when I load up Destiny 2 on Xbox Series X I do not have this issue. It occurs after logging in with a character, after about 10-15 seconds in Orbit. Super sucks because I went as far as thinking it was an issue with my own hardware and went as far as to disable Cross Save which I have now discovered has a non-negotiable 90-day wait period.
I use Spectrum and am located in the eastern United States. I have exhausted the list of recommendations Bungie has posted on the advanced troubleshooting step list. If there is a common fix that has been working for players, or if I just have to wait for Bungie to fix their problem any information would great.
