Hello Bungie Support and Destiny Community,
I’m posting because I’ve been unable to resolve a recurring issue on PC that started today (but I haven't logged in 2 days) where I consistently receive a Weasel error (code: Weasel) approximately 30 seconds after signing in. The error occurs every time I launch the game, and I’m unable to stay connected long enough to play.
Details:
Platform: PC / Windows 10
Error: Weasel
When it occurs: About 30 seconds after successfully signing in
Frequency: Happens every single attempt
Troubleshooting I’ve Already Completed (following Bungie Help page):
I have carefully followed every troubleshooting step in the official Bungie Help article for Weasel errors, including but not limited to:
-Restarting my computer
-Restarting my router/modem
-Verifying game files / repairing installation (via Steam/Battle.net)
-Checking for Windows and GPU driver updates
-Disabling VPN/proxies
-Temporarily disabling firewall/antivirus
-Ensuring Destiny 2 has network permissions
-Trying both IPv4 and IPv6
-Testing on both Wi-Fi and wired connections
Despite completing all recommended steps, the error persists every time, and I am unable to stay in the game.
I’m looking for assistance with:
1. Identifying possible causes for the persistent Weasel error beyond the standard steps
2. Additional diagnostics I can run
3. Clarification on whether this is a known server recognition issue or related to my local setup
4. Steps to get connected and stay connected without dropping after ~30 seconds
Any help from Bungie Support or the community would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

i may have found the solution to this problem at least it worked for me So what you're gonna wanna do is go to ur settings in windows, then go to "system", then you're going to go to "recovery", then reinstall ur current version of windows with all your (apps, files and settings being preserved) follow the steps from there let it reset ur pc or do it yourself once its done updating/downloading then try launching d2 once its done that should be it hope it works for you all cause this s*** pissed me off. An i suppose it wasn't bungies fault like i had claimed (this time at least)

1 AntwortenJust letting you know. I had someone comment on my post about this issue. They mentioned reinstalling windows through the recovery setting in windows settings. It worked for them and worked for me. I had your exact problem for weeks as well.

2 AntwortenHi there, Thanks for reaching out! Please try restarting the game and clearing the download cache to resolve the problem: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049199051-Clearing-the-Console-Cache If you're on Steam, you can clear the cache by going to Steam>Settings>Downloads>Clear Download Cache. If you continue experiencing the WEASEL error after clearing the cache, we recommend you refer to our Network Troubleshooting Guide to explore potential solutions to your problem: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049496531-Network-Troubleshooting-Guide
