I don’t think it really needs to be explained why the matchmade one has random rotating modifiers instead of having customized modifiers. This post is also about solo ops. There won’t be matchmaking regardless of customizing or not.

You see, whether I matchmake the devils lair or I customize the modifiers, I’m still playing the same activity. I know, common sense, crazy… To reiterate, all portal activities can be customized. Click that drop down and select customize. Unsurprisingly, that lets you customize.

  • "matchmade or customize" Clearly not both. Back to the OP's subject, common sense would seem to imply that the Volatile Shields mod doesn't seem very logical in a Solo op. Who's going to defuse you? I think that was the crux of his question. Yes, I know you can activate a healing ability etc. but the handicap seems designed for multiple players and they are just too lame to differentiate it for a solo activity.

The OP is playing solo ops, which doesn’t have matchmaking at all. The defuse can be done by healing or activating your super. It does not require another person. And again, you are not forced to use that modifier. Not in solo ops or any other portal activity. Every portal activity ca be customized.

If I can do that specific thing, please tell me exactly how, without using the terms "LFG" or "clan" or "friends" or other such Bungo Apologist pablum. You said "every activity in the portal" and that was incorrect. Apparently you are such a dedicated BDF'er that you can't accept that.

If you can talk an hour to complain on here, you can take a couple seconds making a fire team finder post. It should not be confusing to you that matchmade activities don’t support customized modifiers. Who among the randomly matched players gets to decide what modifiers are active? And again, this is a thread about solo ops. [i][b]SOLO[/b][/i] ops.

Yeah, that’s because you can customize every portal activity. I’m not sure what part of this is so confusing for you.

You cannot matchmake any activity. Matchmake and customize don’t go together cause there’s no way to assign one player the right to decide modifiers for the other two players. Hence fire team finder, where the post creator gets to decide and can select whatever modifiers they want. The other two aren’t forced to be there. Again, this is all pretty simple stuff. Feel free to try to explain how customizing a matchmade activity would work. I’ll be happy to give you reasons why it won’t.

It is however explained to you through click to progress tutorial cards when you first open the portal and interact with a portal activity. Once again, entry different topic than this thread is even about.
