You're not alone about the weapons on the track; I found them quite underwhelming too. I've been having fun using the mods on hand cannons, but I haven't tried the ones we can use on other weapons yet though.

I forget they even exist there needs to be an extra mod slot for this bonus mod thing.... But knowing Bungie an extra mod slot on weapons will be like a T6 thing... Just you watch...

I just found it to be some weak tea that they're Tier 3 weapons yet only have the one set of curated perks and not even very good ones at that. The whole holofoil thing is of no consequence to me.

Yeah they're just taking advantage of the ooooo shiny precious rare... It's the same kind of crap that trading cards do just because it's holographic doesn't mean it's worth anything... Just taking advantage of the fact that people are shallow and vain and have to have the rare pretty thing to feel valuable or have worth as a person...
