Skill and Destiny 2 PvP is not a thing. Especially mayhem of all things. If you are getting angry over mayhem, go outside. You've had enough video games for a lifetime. It's not for you.

Skill is a thing in Destiny. The issue is that the game moves so quickly that you are hard pressed to play Uber defensively (campy) even if it’s a fast moving game. The thing is, Destiny is too chaotic to have the same experience across the board. No one player is going to have the same feel for the game as another.

Most of the time encounters are decided by who has the better gun with better perks. But you are right, that game is very chaotic, which does not help the situation.
-
Not really. This only applies in same skill brackets, and only in high tier play where the better players will all have roughly the same skill, thus making it so that the better the weapon, the more of an effect it has on gameplay. Of course perks still affect low end combat, but it doesn’t guarantee success, and may only increase ease of use Tl/dr - while Perks and Weapon Archetype have an effect on gameplay, comfortability and skill with a weapon are much more important. Of course the weapon can be holding you back if it’s bad, so it’s more so a balance, but I will always choose a weapon that I am comfortable with over a weapon that tops the meta charts. Cryostasia, Scalar Protocol, BXR, etc.

I've played looter games like this before destiny and I will probably play more of them in the future. The pvp in these sorts of games are not build around skill, they are build around the loot. This is an issue in these types of games despite the genre. Shooter, slasher, action, adventure, or rts. You name it. The longer you play the more advantage you have because of your loot. The more expansions you own, the bigger your advantage. Compare this game to other games that would be featured in MLG or in some other esports Organization. The lack of Destiny, even in its heyday, at any of these skill based areas speaks for itself.

Not talking about mayhem lol when’s the last time you have played quickplay?

Mayhem was mentioned before the edit. I avoid PvP whenever possible. It has never been balanced and due to the lack of balance it has never been fun. If i have to enter that game mode to complete a challenge, then i'll just listen to an audio book and not pay no attention to k/d or w/l until i'm done. It becomes very hard to get upset when the mode does not matter to me.

It’s funny then isn’t it? That ppl like you who stay away from pvp at all costs are the loudest ones in here telling everyone what d2 pvp is ..

It's funnier how people who play destiny pvp with all It's OP weapons they get from pve. The guns, supers, abilities do 90% of the work here. And everyday the PvP players are here complaining how bad the game mode is because THIS is op, than THAT is OP, ok now THIS is OP. The people who play this mode never sound like they enjoy it. I don't stay away from pvp in games. Just the pvp in games like destiny, where the core of the game does not work outside of pve. This pvp is not fun to play casually and it's not fun to play competitively. I don't need this pvp on training wheels experience that destiny provides.
