Part 10 It happened like a whirlwind, in that moment pieces of the Hydra broke down into fragments and flew to Hydras Sacrifice. The Hydras fragments morphed with the weapon making something similar, but something new. It levitated and flew into the Guardians molten covered right hand. The weapon, the Guardian and Ghost began to glow a bright yellow. The ball of fused and contorted Minotaurs began to shake. Cracks in the metal started to form and separate by beams of radiant yellow light. The intensity of the light grew, blinding the entire arena. The sound of glass cracking rang from the ball of chaos. Then with a satisfying shatter, the cluster exploded, shooting pieces of Minotaur parts in every direction. A golden aura beamed from a figure, radiant and perfect in appearance. In angelic like brilliance the majestic figure floated high in the air. The Guardian and their Ghost levitated with the new weapon in hand. Together they glowed and dazzled in radiant yellow light. They hung in the air, breathing in new life. In unison they spoke together, “Heretic Gatelord, you succeed in nothing and you have failed. We are the Lightbear Anomaly. The Travellers chosen. And we.. ..make our own fate.” Together the Guardian and Ghost unraveled the weapon. It formed around the Guardians wrists and made a Vex gate in front of them. It started a spin and spun rapidly. The Heretic still frozen in its timestream pose began to violently convulse trying to escape its pose. In heightened desperation it was too late. A violent torment of solar energy raged and utterly disintegrated the overload bands and armoured plates. They withered away and nothing remained from its knees up. Only the now stubs for legs and feet which had fused to the floor from the molten metal that had oozed down. The Heretic Gatelord had been vanquished from this timeline and all others. The Guardian and Ghost slowly returned to the ground and the weapon reconstructed itself to its original form, Hydra’s Sacrifice. The fragments and body of the Hydra reconstructed itself anew. As the Hydra rebuilt itself, it once again looked down on its new acquaintances and long awaited allies. “We survived.” Ghost stated in disbelief. “Yes, we won. But that was painful.” Guardian stated. “Yeah let’s not let that happen again.” Ghost said displeasingly. “Thank you.” The Guardian said as they approached the Hydra and held the weapon out with both arms. The Hydra looked down at the Guardian appearing to not accept the weapon back. “We appreciate all you have done but it belongs with you.” The Guardian said reassuringly. The Hydra levelled itself and the weapon broke down and disappeared. Suddenly, in a flash the three of them spun and ravelled together and vanished from the Heretics Chamber. They reemerged and stood at the entrance of the Vault of Glass. Ghost spoke for the Hydra one last time, “Lightbearer Anomaly, your presence was a prominent force in this event. May our paths cross in the timestreams. Farewell.” The Hydra righted itself upwards, gracefully spun towards the entrance and floated off. The fabric of space in which it occupied spun together and with a satisfying pop the Hydra was gone. The Gate to the Vault of Glass slowly shut and to the Guardians surprise a heaviness tugged on their right hand. The weapon the Hydra gifted to them ‘Hydras Sacrifice’ had formed together in the Guardians hand. The Guardian looked down and brought it up in full view and looked it over with Ghost. Static broke out over the comms and Zavala called out, “Guardian? Guardian, do you copy? “Yes, Commander. We’re here. We just got out of the depths of the Vault of Glass.” Ghost responded. “Good. I’m glad to hear that you are safe. I received your distress signal and your fireteam reported that you had stayed behind. What did you find?” The Guardian looked at the weapon in their hands and then at Ghost. “Commander, we.., the Guardian searched for the right words. Ghost interjected, “We found an adventure with unexpected twists and turns.” Zavala answered, “Well, I look forward to hearing all about it. And Guardian, the Vanguard thanks you for all that you do and all that you sacrifice.” “Thank you Commander.” Ghost said gratefully. “Come see me when you return to the Tower.” The Commander said. “Will do.” Ghost replied before Commander Zavala left the comms channel. The Guardian turned to face the viewpoint from where they stood. They holstered the newest addition to their vast collection of weapons, Hydra’s Sacrifice. Together they watched Venus’ sun set over the lush jungle. Kills during activation reduce cooldown of this ability. [b]Hydra’s Sacrifice Catalyst - Champion EMP:[/b] [Alternate Weapon Action]: When Supercharged, hold reload to activate Champion EMP. Upon activation, the weapon breaks down and rearranges itself around your wrists and makes a Vex gate that spins overhead. Activate your super to release a shockwave that disorients enemies in a 25 metre radius. Additionally, the EMP heavily disorients all Champion types and doubles their stun duration. Rounds scorch targets and final blows cause enemies to explode. Using this ability grants Restoration for 5 seconds. [b]Gate Lords Wrath Catalyst - Singular Mind Eradication:[/b] [Alternate Weapon Action]: When Supercharged, hold reload to activate Singular Mind Eradication. Upon activation, the weapon breaks down and rearranges itself around your wrists and makes a Vex gate that spins in front of you.
