Still better than smoke bomb, it's only possible to get a pve kill if you equip khepris.

Smoke bomb isn't for kills. It's for invis, radar manipulation, blinding and slowing opponents, weakening them etc. It's not made for damage.

You could make a similar argument about the warlock void melee, it meant to knock back enemies who get too close and apply volatile.
