I love Destiny. No Lie.
TLDR: We’re all going to miss it once Bungie shuts down the servers for good. Just like D1 year 1, year 2, year 3, and so on.
I don’t think I need to explain myself on this one, but I will anyways. Freedom of speech. If you’ve played Marathon before, you’re happy it’s coming back. If you played Halo in its glory days, you were happy when MCC came out. Destiny, however, is something completely new. People seem to chew it up and spit it out like it’s any other game. But frankly, we’ll ALL miss these days.
I don’t truly know what’s going on with servers, “reskinned” content, or cut content. But I know I will miss this. No matter how bad it might seem.
It’s unfair to hold Bungie (other human beings btw) to the millions of possibly different standards of millions of different people.
At the end of the day, it’s their game because they made it. They make games to make money. Money keeps the lights on, both at work and at home. The people who play these games with jobs and children should know this better than anyone. There are people like you working at Bungie. Believe it or not, some of them might actually care about the people they do their job for every day.
You can’t rule out the possibility that Bungie isn’t trying, even if what they’re trying to achieve isn’t catered directly to you.
Yes, I’m young. Yes, I’m dumb. Yes, I’m trying to understand something extremely complex.
But, I have learned this from struggling with depression, having a job, and spending time with the people I love: If you’re not happy with the game you’re playing, set down the controller (or mouse for those on PC) because maybe you’re not truly in control.
I love this community and I love this company, even though I neither understand nor do I know what’s truly going on “under the hood” in people’s lives or behind company’s doors. But the answers are not at each other’s throats, even though that seems to be the first place people seem to look.
This game taught me much, this company taught me more, but this community of people is my home. Developer and player alike. Hard to believe? That’s a-ok, because i’ve learned that a house divided is doomed to fall. That’s why they’re called “The Fallen”.

Well said, I’ll miss it as well. Destiny has been my main hobby now for almost 9 years. There are server problems no doubt, there has been since day 1 though. First game of this type & probably the last. The game play, weapons, armor builds & graphics are top notch. I have no idea what it takes to produce & maintain a game like this but it must be mind boggling. All I can say is enjoy it while it last cause nothing lasts forever.

Wanna be mad at someone? Be mad at upper management and shareholders. They are the ones steering the ship regardless of what any of their "puppets" tell you. This isn't even close to a game to them, it's a money printer. And as far as they are concerned, it's [u][i]always[/i][/u] behind schedule.

Seriously - Destiny 2 kept me together. It was a distraction from all the suffering. I'm not that happy with the game since Beyond Light... But I'm grateful for the distraction it provided. That's my reason for continuing with it. Thanks, Ben.

2 AntwortenI'll just comment on one thing, which I read a lot. "It's their game." No, it's the game that we all paid for with our Halo money and Marathon money and D1 money. Everything in D2 was paid for by us and therefore it's our game and they're just the hired help. Not very good help at that considering the state of things.

Destiny, during its entire existence, has been a roller-coaster of highs/lows with almost nothing in between. During its highs, it’s an amazing game, which stinks because there’s been so few of them compared to the lows. Compared to Halo 1-3, which improved with every iteration, and they don’t compare for me. I’ll miss Halo more than I’ll ever miss Destiny. It doesn’t help that Bungie running this franchise to the ground recently will be what people remember, whether that’s right or wrong.

I love destiny and the player base too. Some of the community got me through some hard hard times. Like family (I won’t lie to just da make feel better….) that get on my damn nerves.

[/quote] Yeah, I'm going to miss how poorly the game/community has been handled while they we making sure the entire time the top streamers were taken care of all these years that stopped me from playing the game about 6 months ago now. I'm especially going to miss... 1, The lying 2, F.O.M.O 3, The cheap lazy development 4, The price gouging for a lot less content 5, The fake promises like bringing back the content they removed, etc.................. Free-to-play, Cross-play, Eververse-play, Re-skins, terrible loot, Lightfall and all the connectivity issues associated with D2, these last 18 months. In other words, I won’t miss the last 2.5 years.
