This is a great change in my opinion having crafted weapons as best in slot totally diminishes the end game content grind. Farming the seasonal activity for red borders and then farming Shuro chi for your enhanced perks is not fun or skillful.

Crafting is cool and all but power creep is way out of hand.
-
What end game grind? Seasonal content? That’s not end game. As for the few craftable weapons in actual end game content - who cares? It’s not just handed to you.
-
Have you read the thread? I’m saying playing seasonal content for red borders and then going to Shuro chi isn’t fun. Doing gms, trials and master raids is where the best loot should be found.
-
So none of the best loot should come from other activities? Wtf is the point of the seasonal activities then
-
No. You can have other loot in other areas but the hardest content should offer the best rewards. Maybe you want the best stuff in patrols?
-
Bearbeitet von Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 2/15/2023 5:38:19 AM“Other loot” again wtf is the point of it if none of it is better or on par to anything from hardcore activities. You didn’t answer. Yes the top activities should have the top rewards but they shouldn’t completely outclass literally everything in other content otherwise that other content becomes absolutely worthless.
-
To upgrade you to play those end game activities - like most looters. To be good enough for end game. To have unique rolls that you don’t find anywhere. Not to be best in slot. I mean you can argue you all you like but the truth is Bungie think the same. They said they made crafted weapons a little ‘hot’. That the enhanced perks were more sort after than they originally thought and that they eclipsed a lot of weapons in the end game activities - gms, master raids, trials. You want to cry about that philosophy then cry but I agree with it and that’s the direction the game is going buddy.
-
Bungie also said sunsetting was a good thing. Appealing to authority isn’t helping your argument.
-
Great response. They also sold their company for billions haha. Well I guess I’ll see you in patrols. If you ever need any PvP or build crafting tips then give me a shout.
-
Bearbeitet von Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 2/15/2023 7:31:46 AMUh… no they didn’t… those billions went to the investors who owned shares of Bungie - not Bungie. Have fun in patrol loser 😂
-
Uhhh do you know who the leading share holders in Bungie were? Jason Jones the original founder is one of them. However, it doesn’t matter where the money goes. They’re a successful company and so I think they have done ok in their decisions. Furthermore, you highlighted sunsetting as a mistake they went back on yet that’s all they’re doing with the power and thus grind for crafted weapons. You proved my point by trying to prove your own. If they make mistakes they’re not afraid to go back on them and the power of crafted weapons versus end game weapons was a mistake.
-
Bearbeitet von Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 2/15/2023 7:34:27 AMIt does matter. You’re appealing to authority and a bad authority at that with a near decade long proven track record of mistakes that nearly killed the game. They walked it back after steel manning it because they were bleeding players
-
No it doesn’t matter. If I company sells for billions then the company is valuable. If it is valuable then it has done something right. Yes there were ups and downs but Bungie is successful and it’s proven in their worth. You don’t understand business or game development and you’re making that very evident.
-
Bearbeitet von Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 2/15/2023 7:37:00 AMNever disputed the company wasn’t valuable. Valuable has nothing to do with a proven track record of making mistakes that nearly destroy the game. FYI Bungie is more than Destiny - a LOT more. Incase you hadn’t noticed the game is basically on life support with 95% of the studio working on other projects
-
Read your first paragraph again and tell me that makes sense. Mistakes only devalue something if they outweigh the success. Bungie was sold for so much due to their success in the live service model that Destiny created. Sony bought them for this and I’m sure we will see Bungie provide live service advice to other Sony IPs as that’s what the company are making. Sony didn’t buy them for titles that are yet to release or be successes - again that’s not how business works in most cases.
-
Sony didn’t buy them for titles that are yet to be released Yeah, they bought them for “their live game services and technology expertise, allowing SIE to reach billions of players”.

Bearbeitet von Machine_DNA: 2/15/2023 9:15:38 AMExactly Because Bungie are successful

There is no skill involved in pure RNG. You don’t earn it. You just get lucky. Feeling accomplished > feeling lucky.
-
No there is skill in mastering the farm of hard activities to give yourself more rolls of the dice.
-
Thats only true for Trials adepts. Everything else is easy to farm. Especially where farming matterns most (Dungeons).
-
I know some people taking 45 mins to do gms you can in 12 mins. Some can do master raids in around 1hr 30, others in 3 hours or not even complete them
-
Bearbeitet von Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 2/14/2023 9:00:44 PMNo, there is not. You just get lucky. There is no “mastering” of a grind. It’s just repetition of an activity that is trivialized very quickly because of how much you do it. There is nothing compelling or challenging about this kind of pursuit.
-
I don’t think you’ve played any other looters.
-
Bearbeitet von Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 2/15/2023 5:03:41 AMOther looters don’t have weekly lockouts and time gating. Rewards also aren’t locked behind hardcore group activities that take an hour or longer to complete Point is irrelevant Destiny is the only loot based game that does have such long activities. People who complain about too much loot have never actually played looters. Because the game ceases to function without literal thousands of drops because you’re looking for a “god roll”. Problem is if you’re time gating that you can be looking at years and I’m sorry but that’s a load of bullshit. Anybody stupid enough to waste their life on a game for a digital item that will probably cease to exist in 10 years is a sucker
-
So if you master the activities then it doesn’t take an hour
