This would be less restrictive on mods and legendaries but you’d have to get rid of the intrinsic champion mods on exotics and that would make this even more restrictive because you’d lose those options.

Why? You could keep the exotic weapons as they are. They would ALWAYS have their built in functionality and not need to lose it based on the activity modifier, socketed mods or changes seasonally. For example, running Unstop HC doesn't currently make Erianas Vow stop doing Anti Barrier, or overload bow on Leviathans Breath, right?

I agree, it's a little complex from my giant wall of text lol. I probably went a little overboard with the explanations and what it would do for us Basically, any activity with champions would have a modifier to automatically grant a weapon type, or a couple if needed, the ability to stun champs. If you don't want to use those weapon types, you could still use exotics w intrinsic champ stunning abilities, or the seasonal mods (which would be different from the ones "featured" by the activity, but come at the cost of using up a mod slot and armor energy). Little more complex for newer players, but much wider in application when you get to understand it
