Nova warp main here. It is fine as is. It is a very potent super, but has a high learning curve compared to other supers.

It does have a high learning curve, but also a high cost-to-benefit ratio, and is crap versus other supers. Mediocre versus players, less than versus good players. This clip was just one example of a major discrepancy, imo. Besides, I already wrote a lengthy explanation covering several things, and you didn't address any of it.

Bearbeitet von Hatter: 11/17/2022 11:19:47 PMBecause everything else you talked about is a bit misunderstood or didn't apply to nova warp. But let me break it down for you.
See the 18 second video clip for an example, the balance is staggering.
The one thing about Nova warp that would be nice. Close activation doing a little more damage. However, there are caveats, heavy heavy caveats to stormtrance over Nova warp. Stormtrance is a strong activation hybrid super. It's really good at wiping somebody on activation, but in terms of its roaming capacity it needs to have crown of tempest to be even close to what Nova warp can do. Nova Warp is a strong roaming hybrid super. It doesn't have that strong of an activation, but when you get it going, especially with blink, you become the most feared thing that pops on the entire map because nobody, nobody knows where exactly you are going to pop from.
Both of these supers require reaching melee range distance for a OHKO on cast, both supers are roaming, both can teleport, and yet one has greater attack range, faster ttk for super attacks, greater damage resistance, and greater cast damage output.....and this is the same old story compared to most supers.
Nova warp is much faster and much more maneuverable than stormtrance. Stormtrance suffers heavily from teleportation and slow movement, whereas Nova Warp lasts much longer. And, you can combine blink with its dark blink. Add in the aspect that gives you devour after you get avoid ability kill and you have a super that keeps healing itself. That is why it does not have as high of DR as stormtrance, which cannot heal itself. In terms of greater attack range, Nova warp overall has more. It hits in a greater area, resulting in high AOE coverage, its full burst range is about on par with tickle fingers in one direction. Stormtrance is great in one direction, not in a big team environment. You need to approach differently with both supers
I know Nova Warp initially launched too hot, but it's time to revive it from the depths of the nerf graveyard. Devour on KOs does not matter in its current state for pvp use because it is just too slow, deals too low damage, has too little range, and lasts for too little time. Please adjust it a little bit to keep up with the current sandbox.
It's been revived, but nobody is trying to learn how to use it. It's not a super that should have high DR, high heal, and high movement. It already has high movement and high heal, and decent DR. Devour does matter. I use it all the time in PvP and it saves me and allows me to go on crazy streaks. When it props even when I'm in my super, the streak is Even longer.
And as a sidenote, HandHeld SuperNova should be able OHKO, at minimum, while using Contraverse Hold or some other way of building into it. Peregrine Greaves enables titan shoulder charge OHKO, striker titan Knockout enables OHKO melees especially with Synthoceps, and hunter Weighted Throwing Knife already OHKOs on a crit PLUS refunds itself with zero exotic requirement, so don't waste time claiming it would not be fair when these things already exist in the other classes as MELEE options - not even requiring a grenade like for HHSN. Warlock currently has one OHKO ability in the form of Lightning Surge on Stormcaller, and that only works on players that are grouped up tightly - niche like Ballistic Slam team wipes. The point of course though, is that warlocks are behind the other classes in terms of OHKO abilities, and that ought to be remedied for better balance.
This is one thing where it would be awesome. Not a bad suggestion. But as nothing to do with nova warp, which you noted.
I know there are plenty of things to be addressed. This is the topic I focused on for this post. Take your angry tangents about other stuff and make your own post.
I don't understand this last part are you asking for a discussion or are you wanting a fight? What was the point here? Edit: okay, I think I'm going to go ahead and write a guide and Put it on Reddit crucible guide book because I love seeing other people use Nova warp, but I really would love to see people use it well. I have seen exactly one other person using it right besides me. Look for it in the next couple weeks or so

I appreciate the write up, and it's communicated well with some good points. We differ on some points which is expected in these topics. I'm kind of worn out from all the replies to this post at this point, lol. I still think Nova Warp needs to buffs due to the speed of players increasing with all the 3.0 reworks while Nova Warp hasn't really been updated with such changes (dodges, thruster, shoulder charge, and even some basic hunter jumps, etc can readily escape a NW blast before it is charged and released), and to be fair some of my gripes might be fixed if Bungie ever ditched p2p connections. As far as the attack range, don't forget that Stormtrance lightning chains to targets, so it has a wide or long range depending on the position of enemies. Although yeah, Devour is great on Nova Warp. My issue is still how long it takes to attack vs how powerful and prevalent our weapons and normal abilities have become. I don't have a problem with Stormtrance itself, just Nova Warp. For the part of it's not a super that should have high DR, high heal, and high movement. It already has high movement and high heal, and decent DR. That's fine, but my main issue overall for Nova Warp is how slow it is to full charge attack. The heal, movement, and DR don't matter for much if a player is aware of you as special weapons and standards abilities are plenty strong and fast enough to take you down before you can deal a full charge blast especially if there are multiple opponents. The attack just needs to be a bit faster, and it still causes you to fall more slowly than normal if you are charging/holding an attack. Glad we agree on some parts though. The opening cast blast, and HHSN in particular. The part at the end was because it is very common for people to hijack a thread or have a pp measuring contest about how their xyz issue is worse. Happens all the time in forum posts about anything really, and it's just annoying to deal with, so I wrote that as a reminder to hopefully deter that behavior.

Homie high learning curve? If you don't know how to warlock in the slightest you have absolutely ZERO chance of making that super work. Not everyone is a warlock main and the super should be usable for them. And by usable I don't mean hit the super button and it comes out. While the super might not need a large buff it does need to have its tier reduced. Especially when you can press buttons that make you fly around like super man murdering everything even though that's supposed to be a one-off super. Also reduce flight time of thundercrash. They extended it at some point and that was just dumb
