There is no incentive for SBMM to be in control. I don't mind it with or without but if I have to sit up in control now I better be getting adept weapons or ascendant shards or something. Grandmasters are more laid back than control is and control provides zero rewards much like the rest of crucible. If you want to keep SBMM, add actual good loot for winning. If that doesn't happen then that means control is a casual game mode and shouldn't have SKILL taken into consideration because we aren't competing for anything.
However, if you think getting adept weapons, ascendant shards, etc from control would make them less rare or less desirable and ruin economy or stuff of that nature, then you should see the issue that no one should have to try that hard. SBMM belongs in a game mode where people fight for a proper, good reward. Right now there is literally nothing you're fighting for. Hence, control is not competitive and shouldn't be treated like so.
If you want to make games more fun for people on the lower skill end then I strongly suggest prioritizing similar party match making instead. Too often you play solo and match stacks. Even a 1.3 6 stack will probably mow through any 3.0 solo player. Similarly a 3 stack of 2.0s will run a lobby.
I have a lot of hours in PvP since beta. I'm just giving my (mostly) unbiased opinions. I want everyone to be happy as well but I feel this is not the way.

I disagree control a lot easier

For the love of God! There are tens of these whiny posts about Control from tryhards every day! Just play and tank your kd and you'll be able to enjoy Control again. You've obviously pumped up your kd playing against newbs and now when you face players of the same kd who ACTUALLY deserve that kd, they obliterate you. As soon as your kd drops on the lvl you actually deserve, you'll have a better time. Quit crying and git gud. You've got a million times better time than 0.5kd guys playing against 2kd guys, that was the case with cbmm.

true, but pve outside dayone is in a tutorial state so obv is not hard

Now imagine a .5 facing that six stack. Average KDR, by laws of mathematics, will always be less than one. What is crucible like for the average player right now?
