I turned my PlayStation 4 on and saw that it had a System Software update. Nothing major, it did 2 small things and took less than a minute to fully complete.
Then I go to play Destiny 2, only to be greeted by a popup telling me that I'm downloading "Destiny 2 Required Content 3" and in game it says:
DOWNLOADING CONTENT FROM PLAYSTATION STORE
66.83GB In Progress (this may take a while)
Why the hell does it have to completely redownload the game???

Hi there. Playstation has released a system update that for some reason has uninstalled D2 for some players. If this has occurred to you, you will need to reinstall the game. We also recommend reporting the issue to Playstation Support for their awareness. If you run into problems downloading or installing, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article. If you continue to have issues installing, contact Playstation Support for help.

since it was a sony update that caused the issue you should ask sony support

Quite annoying, especially as none of the official sources have even acknowledged it. I theorise that it may have to do with the PS4 Lightfall preorder issue and possibly fixing that, but forcing everyone to go through a three stage 70 odd gb download without any heads up is a bit grating.
