Harsh 4.0.0.4 Hotfix

Sigh… here we are again. As you may know, in the recent hotfix for D2, hunters who are playing void 3.0 received a nerf to invisibility. The nerf states that every 3 seconds targets who are invisible will ping the radar for 0.6 seconds. Before I say what I’m about to say allow me to preference my comments by saying I am a hunter main, specifically a void hunter main who has been using invisibility since it’s introduction in D1 I’m baffled by this change… and allow me to explain why. Invisibility has been following the same laws (walking allows you to stay completely off radar, sprinting and double jumping allows you to return to the radar while invis) since it’s inception into the game. How is it that after years of it continuity, ONE week of void 3.0 is cause for a nerf? Let’s look at what took place the first trials week of this season 1. void 3.0 allowed hunters to gain additional ways to go invisible by having smoke bombs and the dodge at the same time. This allows hunters who properly know how to chain their abilities to stay invisible for a total of 4-5 duration lengths depending on the exotic. Definitely a buff and something intended as buffing all light subclass is the point of the class updates 2. the first week of trials took place on a map where invisibility is very strong (good areas for flanks and baits) allowing the power of invisibility to really be showcased. Yet this is a very small sample size as one week can’t possibly be enough time especially for Bungie who is know to have lab test for very large amount of times. 3. Using survival as a way to assess invisibility isn’t a proper way to assess for trials as the game modes play out very differently. 4. Invisibility isn’t as strong in 6v6 game modes because running with your team defeats the purpose of being invisible and flanks aren’t as strong due to the number of players. Now, invisibility is utterly useless in 6v6 game modes. Nerfing something after a week doesn’t allow the meta to set in properly and doesn’t provide enough data especially when the map favors that play style. We have been testing trials as a whole for months with the community screaming for the flawless pool to be removed and the game mode to be returned back to the first week it was changed but Bungie has been slow to revert that… instead why not take more time too look at more weeks and collect more data considering invis hasn’t been nerfed since it’s inception. Also, if this is path that felt was necessary why not buff an exotic to keep invisibility in its original state? For example, Buff Graviton forfeit so that the 0.6 ping every 3 seconds doesn’t apply when using this exotic. This way, it will: 1. Keep this play style that hasn’t been an issue for years alive 2. Entice players to move away from frequently used exotics like StompEE, an exotic that has been complained about since it’s been added to the game and is clearly the most used exotic for hunters in trials. Bungie please, revert this unwarranted nerf as this nerf was simply rushed
